24 new mg5 trophy 0miles £23k on the road March 2024 @...Luscombe Leeds. driven 2500 miles averaged 4.5m/kw. have regularly exceeded 5m/kw. GOM is pretty accurate. Easy to drive , loads of room. only negative rear middle seat is not for an adult too hard.. very pleased with it. only used public charging twice and it worked no problems. Other than that charged on Solar excess at home via Givenergy charger so free fuel.

That’s the way to do it, I think the seat will get more pliable my friend travelled in the rear centre on one of our road trips and was happy. Thank you Alan. We’ve currently the new MG3 on test 😀

My MG5 Trophy is used as a family workhorse, humans, dogs , roof box, rear Towbar bike carrier all loaded up , we go weekly from NE Wales across country to Mid Wales Coast on a home charge, drives well on fast hilly A Roads, plenty of suspension travel for rough roads, great ground clearance, tyres are not too low profile, a fairly simple car, that’s just does what it was designed for, moving stuff about. I’ve not used the V2L yet, but may buy an adapter and experiment powering our sited caravan with our Off Peak electricity Nice review 👍🏴🐑

Self sufficient to a point with Vehicle 2 Load too, I’d use it for mountain biking perfect estate and a proper bargain and with home charging mega efficient, great to hear it provides across the board, id have one of these, may well get one for biking at some point, thank you XTR.

The bench seat can be removed...there are just 2 clips, one either side. It's needed to be that way for access to the main battery switch....means you can almost fold flat.

Very cool, we have a C124 230 CE - some rather nice estates there, yes the US doesn’t seem to want any Chinese cars currently, it’s a shame as they’re improving significantly day by day.

I've been looking at these just lately. Used ones seem like a bit of a bargain. Some MG dealers in my area are selling ex demo examples and others with just a few thousand miles on them for prices around £18 to £20k....
@PlanetautoUK3 ай бұрын
They are, it’s a good time to grab a low milage one.
@stephengreen89862 ай бұрын
I went for the basic model as I didn't want the fancy alloys and the vegan leather. I actually prefer the 16 inch wheels and the plastic wheel trims (with plain alloys underneath) because the range and ride quality are better. Got a good price because it's being replaced next year by the MG4 estate. I don't like Suv or flash cars. I want understated and discreet. Pleasure to drive.

Saving for used one, wish I had £20000 for new one. That's what they are going for on Carwow at the moment new price for base model. Most dealers have them for that also as of October 24. Cleverly have them at almost 150000 miles and still have 91% battery health. Most I.C.E cars will be knackered by that mileage or have gone through some expensive engine work..
@PlanetautoUK2 ай бұрын
Crazy, similar price to the T90 EV 😀 and that was 50k when released - decent electric estate and that’s some number and only 9% crazy, and yes especially3 cylinders. Hope you find the perfect one Dominic keep us posted on your search.

I must admit that I do like the look of this car, and from your comments Ben I think it would comprehensively tick my boxes. However there is one elephant in the room, and that is the high level console, I absolutely detest them and it would preclude me buying one I’m afraid. The versatility of my Honda HRV continues to amaze me, had a big load from the nursery in the back over the weekend including two 8’ trees! (60+ mpg) Keep up the good work Ben look forward to the road test.👍😎

@ISuperTed5 ай бұрын
I’ve had a look at the MG5, as really want an EV estate, but it’s just too small for our needs. Needs more boot space. May look at a used e308 but both of them need more useable range. Only other alternative on the horizon is the MG4 estate (if it ever arrives!).
@PlanetautoUK5 ай бұрын
The market for an estate car is still there, isn’t it! It’s the reason why Volvo are bringing out a new one. An MG4 EV estate with more boot space (than the 5) and lots more range is going to suit so many, but until we see one in the metal, no one has an idea yet of how big it’s going to be. Fingers crossed it fits your needs. Thanks, @ISuperTed 👍
@kipperdog79505 ай бұрын
There's the vauxhall astra estate, or the 308 estate. Or you might consider an enyaq, id4 or etron Q4 if you don't mind an SUV crossover.

@@PlanetautoUK There are currently 3 EV estates on sale in the UK: The MG5, Peugeot E 308 SW estate and the Astra electric sports tourer. Porsche also claim that their Taycan cross tourismo is an estate. Unfortunately these are all small estates, so you have to go for an SUV crossover if you want the extra space.
