Hi, can you help me please? I've snapped the fuel flap completely off the casing (Citroen DS3). How, or is it possible to remove the casing so I can replace/repair it please? Do you have a video of one being removed?

@@lorimorgan8574 I'v managed to look at one ..I've had no need to take one apart before, but I can see may be 3 options. 1. It could be a rotation of the unit .when petrol cap is off. 2. may have to remove the wheel arch liner to see if you can get access to it.it may be retained by self tapping screws...if you can not see any access from that method then may be access from inside the vehicle by removing interior panels.. 3. Rather more extreme part removal of the fuel tank , by lowering it down so it removes pressure off the flap retainer.. Hope some of this helps you..

If you have cleaned it out, then fill half way and immerse the filter slowly into it the filter will then soak up the diesel and then you can top up ..when you are ready to start , hold revs upto 1500 rpm for 2 minutes or so. It's a self bleed system so you shouldn't have any problems. If you find this helpful please like and maybe subscribe, thanks

Does the tank should be full, empty half full or just a little in there?

If there is debris in there clean it out , top up half way, immerse the new filter in very slow, the new filter will suck up the fuel ,top up after but just under the top edge.place the top on ,you should not get a spillage, if you do clean up , and then start engine hold revs for 20000 rpm for a minute or two , get someone to check for leaks... ..it is self bleed but the less air you get in the better ..happy days , please sub scribe if your happy..

Self bleeding ,just make sure fresh fuel is in the filter reservoir ,start the engine and hold the revs at 1200rpm for about 3 mins . These new diesel engines are not like the old type where you would have to bleed them.

Hello, do you know where can I find the full filter housing? I could not find anything of this type. I bought a peugeot with this housing and it has damaged connectors. Not leaking but as a precaution

@@paulsimpson2232 I have the exactly fuel filter housing (and engine I suppose). Mine is a '16 peugeot 208 bluehdi 1.6

@@giannissioutis9139 they made be a 1.6 and French but different dealers have a a different layout . 208 if memory serves me correct is position at rear under the car near the spare tyre well close to the suspension spring . ..

Great video! Just curious, for refitting and replacing how would I bleed? Going to be doing the fuel filter soon, should I fit fuel filter refill canister with the old diesel, do a few ignition cycles and then start?

Thankyou ,glad it will be of help. Dont use old fuel from fuel bowl. Fresh diesel only . You can soak the new filter in clean diesel if you dont mind the mess. Then place in filter holder and top up with diesel just as much has you can without over spill when you place the top back on, after refit , start the engine and hold the revs at 2500 rpm for about 3mins. Its self bleeding. Running at fast idle I never had a issue with not starting.

thank you, very helpfull but the clips that was broken, i cant get it off, mine is also broken,

You may need to make a small flat blade screwdriver with a 90 degree bend so you push the broken clip from underneath and get someone to push down on the top side of the broken clip. At the same time push the pipe slightly in with you finger and thumb, while pressing the clip in pull the pipe out..not easy when broken but have patience. Good Luck.
