Amazing cars, never in the automobile history there has been a car like or ever will be. A truly forgotten legend.

Great and innovative car. These ads make me want to go out and buy one. I actually remember some of these ads from my childhood. Especially the one with the barrels on the road. That was shown in Switzerland.

I drove a GS, it was a great car. But it rusted faster than I could repair it. When the rust had eaten though the bottom plate, beams and the exhoust just fell of, I had to let go. I got 100 Dutch guldens (about €45) from the scrap yard for the engine....

During that time era that was the case with many european cars (for example the Alfa Sud or Peugeot 204 and 304) The reason? Poor steel quality! There was a steel shortage in the early 1970's and some brands imported rolls of steel sheet from the USSR. Thos3 were made from scrap metal. It was of poor quality. You could rust proof your car with waxoil or dinitrol or tectyl or similar but that would only slow down the rusting proces.

Bellissimo video sulle Citroën GS e GSA. Auto comode e avanti col tempo.

I had a 1977 GS Club Estate, a wonderful car but built from old tin cans..rust buckets. I had to scrap mine at only 6 years old due to the rot.

The GSX had a 55hp 1 litre engine, less than what you would get in the slowest car you could buy today. I think the ad was slightly misleading: it does not turn you into Jacky Ickx.

From the good old days when adverts were actually tailored to individual European countries unlike today’s boring homogeneous pan-European efforts!
