You could have undone the securing clip on the breather hose. That would have allowed you to hold the pice in your hand , drill it and dry fit the pipe. I only know this as I've just done mine. Your several steps ahead of me as I've still to attach the fuel line to it. I need to find a nice place to mount my pump. Iam currently making a box to house it to try and muffle the ticking sound.

How close to the tank does the pump need to be ?

​@@londontyres3405as close as possible, these types of pumps are better at pushing the diesel than at sucking it. Undermount on a Fiat/Peugeot/boxer it would be little over a meter away for a good, safe hidden place for the pump. That is a perfect enough distance.

Hi, did you need to epoxy the sender unit after install ? We did the same as you not using any but just checking if you had any leaks later on ? Thanks, Lee

No never used any sealant on the fuel pipe! Been fitted for a year now and not had any issues.
