Actually, if I remember correctly, the Garden Warfare games ARE canon to the PvZ universe. I forgot if it was from a Twitter post, or an interview, but I remember that they said that while the fighting in GW is going on, there are also zombies that are attacking lawns like they always have. Citron is basically a Coconut cannon without splash damage, deals 100 less damage but has a plant food that almost kills an entire Gargantuar! One thing you do have to know is that while Citron instantly kills zombies that aren't mix or gargantuars. Coconut cannon pushes back everything! But citron is less expensive and charges its shots faster than Coconut Cannon. But it is severely hurt by the lack of aoe. Which thankfully it's plant food supplies. Besides of there's a lot of gargantuars. Or Mechs. And that's why people overlook the plant. The lack of aoe. Because the love will want to simply give you infinite plant food! You have to efficiently use it so you can see which lane is in the most trouble and if you have a Citron in it, you can basically save it.

I mean, yeah citron’s plant food clears a whole lance. But coconut cannon pushes the whole lane back and *then* does a bunch of damage. The time that buys is usually more than enough to compensate the lacking damage The little extra sun it costs doesn’t really matter much either, since sun is so easy to come by in PVZ2 And then there’s the timing. It doesn’t matter how much damage the citron does if its going to waste its whole shot on a basic zombie anyway. A problem that the coconut cannon doesn’t suffer from since its player controlled. Citron isn’t overlooked so much as it is just outclassed. Mayby if its projectile had some sort of piercing effect against weaker zombies it would be used more. But as it stands its just bad

Citron fundamentally is as complicated as a Peashooter, having literally no other stats (other than plantfood) that a Peashooter does not have. But by simply tweaking those stats a bit, you can give it so much complexity that you can pick up immediately, which is really the most important aspect. The complexity of something should not be told to you, it should be learned through gameplay.

I honestly find Citron's simplicity to be really fun. Deck building is what makes PvZ2 fun, and the concept of Citron needing other plants for effectiveness is what makes it fun. It encourages synergy and strategy to work well. And I do agree with the part about complex plants, since mastering a complex plant makes it simple to use even solo afterwards.

It helps that citron is obviously not spammable by its mechanics alone(in addition to the cost) like peashooter or the uhhh.... whatever the electric reed was called. It forces you to think about what other plant(s) need to fill in its weakness for a certain stage A lot of plants do this but Citron is yet another Also, for Lobotomy Corporation, do not press the button that you must not press. this isnt a joke, theres a major glitch involving it that deletes all your units' current equipment. just ignore it.

I discovered something you can do with Lily Pad now that you can use it in every level. It’s quite niche and only useful in certain situations, but it’s cool nonetheless. If you have to fight against specifically the Tomb Raiser Zombie, using Lily Pad will always keep specific tiles from having Tombstones. Not only that, but Lily Pads are undetectable by most zombies. This allows for some great synergy tactics, like using Hurrikale with Squash.

I feel like both Citron and Laser Bean go hand in hand as being Plants that should be really good, but got counterbalanced by being too good at one thing that would cause another problem. Citron deals a lot of damage, but a lot of that damage is wasted, and weaker targets suddenly become a nuisence, and Laser Bean can hit an infinite amount of Zombies in a lane, but because of that, it makes waves go super fast.

Please put captions on your videos If you read off a script, adding captions is actually very easy, because you can just put in your script and KZbin will figure out the timings. I'm asking because I cannot figure out what you're saying at 14:34 (the auto captions say "often gets blocked by like sha"??)
