The first time I heard this song, I don't think I have ever cried as hard in my life until that day, it's extremely moving and drew emotion out of me that i never thought I had. Boys this is the song to play when I leave this earth. AWESOME City and Colour

my uncle is passing with stage 4 cancer he is only 32, he has struggled with health issues his entire life and had surgeries at young ages all the way up to his current, his dying wish was to marry my beautiful aunt, they have an autistic son together who is 5, the whole family is in pieces, my heart is shattered, this was the song they chose for their first dance and i’m absolutely breaking down to this masterpiece of a song.

When I came across this song many years ago, I was a young girl, sad because I loved a boy I wasn't allowed to be with. At the time I was a Christian and he was an atheist. I didn't understand why I loved him so much but I just couldn't get him out of my mind. Fast forward to today, we're now engaged, live together, and we'll be 4 years in August. This song always makes me think of us because we've been through hell and back together. The church bells aren't so far now.

So you heared the church bells from afar?^^ I've heared the bible say "love each other" and it most certainly doesn't say "love each other ... but not that one.... go love somebody else!" That's all on us, the stupid humans, the bigottery we created from reading an ancient book.
@JB-ku7kv4 жыл бұрын
good story, the BIble says to not be unequally yoked....im sure you've been through hell and back....a christian heart trying to coexist with a ungodly heart doesnt work....thats why the bible says that darkness cannot comprehend light

Through the dark soulest waters, and cold lonely air, on the rough restless seas, the vessel in deep disrepair, I swear they started singing, and then all rejoice I can still hear your voice....
3:35 is like a climax to the whole album. The sound they achieved in this song is really tremendous.

As much as I love William Fitzsimmons and Ray Lamontagne, it's Dallas Green that's pretty much stepped his game up, and added layers to his craft with this new album. PLEASE buy this album, don't just nab it off a torrent. This music is something you want to own tangibly, and share with the world.

I heard the church bells from afar But we found each other in the dark And when the smoke does finally pass We will rise above all the ash Cause we're gonna live, we're gonna live, we're gonna live We're gonna live, we're gonna live, we're gonna live We're gonna live, we're gonna live, we're gonna live At last So bright, the flames burned in our hearts That we found each other in the dark Black beast, out in the wilderness We are fighting to survive and convalesce But we're gonna live, we're gonna live, we're gonna live We're gonna live, we're gonna live, we're gonna live We're gonna live, we're gonna live, we're gonna live Like the rest Through the black soulless water And the cold lonely air On the rock restless seas The vessel in deep disrepair And the swans they started singing But then oh, rejoice! I can still hear your voice Then I heard the church bells from afar But we found each other in the dark

its a beautiful song, its ominous and most likely a love song to satan. You have to analyze the music. The occult owns the music industry. It just has to many occult reference to not be. If you dont know the references you would never understand it. "when the smoke does finally pass, we will rise above all the ash.order out of chaos. "i heard the church bells from a far.... but that wasnt where "they" found each other..."We" found each other in the Darl. The contrast for refernce, light..the church...dark, the opposite of the church...where he found the "voice" he could dtill hear.

I see how you can make the conclusion. Or, it could be telling the story of two people that fell in love and married as one was diagnosed with cancer, or something else that gave them a number of months or years to live. They hoped that the prognosis would change and the recovery would happen, but the change never came. Healing never took place. One was lost to their sicknessb leaving the other with nothing but memories and the sound of the other's voice. They mourned as swans do, leading to death by heartache, but as they drifted off they could hear their lover's voice to the tune of funeral bells in the distance. Dallas Green loves to tell stories. I can't deny that he has his own demons by the content of his songs as a whole, so your theory of the meaning could fit too.
