What a bunch of ingrates ! What grace that painfully ridiculous people don't appreciate the truly beautiful houses and reject them. Excellent! The houses deserve better!

I think they balance each other well. She put in the work settling them in. He comes home with nothing to do but relax. Not sure a relaxed woman would cope like she has. A rugby player is focused, athletic and competitive, traits that they seem to share.

I have the impression that Amy is more interested in impressing others than anything else. Several times she mentioned wanting a grand entrance to impress her friends, then towards the end she said that she often lingers outside the front door in the hope that people will see that that is where she lives. It seems horribly superficial because after all, does it really matter what others think?

Edinburgh city properties appear to be spacious and well-proportioned in comparison, say, to areas around London. However, the prices are eye-watering and the "offers over" system hard to negotiate.

Has anyone else noticed and wondered why in the UK, so many properties listed for sale have the brightest wall colors? Here in NH USA, (I was a realtor for 10 years) we always advised neutral colors to appeal to more buyers! Those yellows are so bright...not great in my opinion.

Really dislike the Scottish system with wildly fluctuating prices. That said, these 2 couples managed to sort out their own preferences and ultimately agree on a place and a price. Without Phil & Kirstie I don't think either couple would have navigated the complicated market as successfully as they did.

I love the show, but Kirstie, here's some advice well earned, keep your opinions to yourself! Who are you to tell a man he is being unthoughtful for wanting a music room? This room is part of his life, his children will benefit from that room, and have many memories do to their dad's interest in music. You seem to be a bit bossy at times, and need to be called out. 😁😎👍✌🎄🎅

I’m a fan of kirstie her comments are an reference for negotiation and are a hinted suggestion of requirement or something else that requires a specific perspective that provokes a sense of possibility and benefits some buyers are unaware of the type of property they need and features which are provided that can help by comparison and compromise so Kirstie can sense their dilemma and hesitation it’s a matter of time and patience

@@ivantaurua6735 Try telling that to an audiophile who has $20,000 wrapped up in 2 speakers, an amp, a preamp, a CD player, and a turntable, not to mention the untold $1000's spent on 600 cd's, 800 albums, and still counting. This guy wants an area where his expensive musical gear is safe from little hands, and an area to play his instruments. I'd want a room to keep the little hands away as well from my $20k stereo, and a place to listen. There is no compromising for me! She really wasn't that bad, and that first flat she showed them would have been perfect for me with that large room, assuming the wife like the rest of the property. 😁👍😎✌🗽

Property shopping and agent's job are always filled with problems but, the number of times Kirstie gets bent out of shape for expecting a buyer to "overlook" obvious problems is very odd. If noisy roads, washers blocking shower doors, gardens being overlooked by umpteen houses and dark windowless rooms are things the buyer does not want then they should not buy there. Her opinion about what others spend their money and then must live with is utterly irrelevant! She can decide that for herself and ALL of these buyers need to decide that for themselves. Her whining gets old fast.
@thehungrygoldfish
@thehungrygoldfish Жыл бұрын
Kirsties point is that everyone needs to compromise. There’s no such thing as the perfect house in the perfect location done to your exact specifications that fits comfortably in your price range. If you don’t want to do work, then fine you can be on a busy road. If you don’t want to be on a busy road, then fine you can get a house half the size. You want the biggest house you can get, then fine you can move an hour away from your dream neighborhood. You want to live in your dream neighborhood, then fine you can rent. You don’t want to rent? Then too bad. You’re too poor to get what you want where you want. Either compromise or no house for you!

OK, someone was not listening, lol. The standard system in Scottish real estate is "Offers Over." It's basically an auction and the highest bid wins and of course the seller is free to immediately reject your offer no questions asked. Usually, the listing agent will tell you what the seller is expecting. You're, of course, free to offer less than the listed price, but you will be immediately laughed at and rejected and probably put on a black list with all the local real estate agents. As for parking, it's uncommon for UK houses to have garages and driveways because that's simply not the norm, specifically with older houses. You generally park on the street. It's basically like NYC parking. You park where you can.
