I actually found my condo on the Internet I new immediately that I wanted it. I just went to see it just to make sure everything was as it seemed. There were five offers/two were cash. I wrote a personalized letter and I offered and I got it..

Yes, I take Kirstie's point, but I looked at a lot of flats to rent and could tell they felt wrong... Until I saw one with huge south-facing windows and knew it had the light brightness that I crave. I worked out where it was located from clues in the photos and walked over to look at the building. Then scheduled a viewing and while there are things I really do not like, I had "the feeling" while viewing online and knew it was the one and only that I wanted to view. I think that buyers with imagination and ability to read the photos can tell from online viewing if they can make a place work or not. I know other people who can't seem to rule in or rule out properties online, but I can.

Isnt it great that when you see something which might be ok, but isn't quite, seeing other things can help you decide that actually it is great.

Looks to me like there is a hand-sketched portrait of Morten Harket in the dining room of the 4th house... this might be the coolest thing I've seen on this show and I already adore LLL ;)

If you end up buying a house that you completely dismissed online, after deciding to see it in person; I can't think of a better hint from P & K to always look in person!

Phil's house 1 is everything I need and want. I would have been making an offer on the spot! I love that it has both casual and formal zones. I love hosting "little dinners" that are 5 or 6 courses, and up to a dozen people. I certainly do not want them in my kitchen! House 4 for them has too many compromises. No parking is a big one, both for the motorhome and both cars. Being an on call vet, him having to dash out at what ever time means the car needs to be right there.

for the couple with a camper, they could pay to park it off property and that would open up their search a lot. It's a shame to have that need limit them in such an already tight market

I moved miles away from where I was living, so a lot of research was done online. That said, the decor was so awful (online and in person) we had to look to at the bones of the house and its location....and that's what prompted us to buy it. Online provided me with at ,east an idea as to what I wanted....and what I didn't.

I have watched L/L/L for a couple decades.... love the feel of the show but there's no deal if either party can just back out at the last minute....In North America...offers are in writing and the agreed sale is signed by both parties and they are locked in....to get out would cost 10's of thousands at best.... as it should be !

Presumably all the legal paperwork is available right at the start in the US? It's all the work by solicitors that take months in the UK. It's usual for a house purchase to take 3-4 months minimum. I heard that realtors in the US do everything. In the UK, estate agents only show the house and forward offers essentially. Once an offer is accepted, it's all in the hands of solicitors.

Yes. In most cases in the US if you have your monies in order (most home buyers do as it’s required or upon making an offer) you can view a home one day and be living in it 30 days later.

Either Lee is the walking incarnation of cautious or none of the houses was really right and they felt some kind of pressure to end by buying. I found it strange that they seemed lukewarm about the first house but then as time went on, talked as if they really loved it.

Are only upmarket areas used in this series? In every episode Phil or Kirsty says " the prices have rocketed in this city" Which cities, which areas have the prices not soared? Which areas are not very difficult to find properties for the clients?

The house that Emma and Lee were shown first was in Barry...and so was their last one...Phil said it would give them everything they wanted, if they could get over the location...well how big is Barry, where they had no issues about house 1 but when the last house was also in Barry the location was unsettling them? And house 4 was a lot nicer, with a gorgeous view...why didn't they just go back and put an offer in on house 4, since they both thought it was gorgeous...and in the SAME city (town) and the house they offered on and then backed out of?

ALL the houses shown here are WAY too small for me ... Most British homes I have seen are not very curbside appealing from an American standard . Landscaped front yards or tree lined streets seem to be rare . The houses, looking from the streets, are hard surface... meets hard surface ... meets hard surface
