For super specific sub classes like this I always think how fun it would be to make an NPC who has these abilities. A DM would be able to make such an interesting and powerful NPC in an environment crafted around them. Also imagine the absolute Raid boss a 20th level City Druid would make with unlimited wild shapes in an environment crafted around them. You could have the big bad of a campaign in a city of permanent shifting walls, ceilings and gravity playing tricks on the party and throwing them into traps.

Wow, controlling the battlefield just got another meaning. Add your summoning spells on top of that. In a right campaign this is going to be so much fun. Pair this druid with the "Arachnoid stalker" (or whatever it was called) rogue and have fun driving your DM crazy. Thanks a lot for the video guys

The city bender druid. Or the “Inception” druid XD. As the feats were Passing by I could totally see a city bard based on the same ideas. Using bardic inspiration instead of wildshape. A Igree with my friend below. It looks and feels a lot like a NPC class. Lots of roleplay inside a specific scenario. And the laws of physics going BOOM can and will create a lot of paradoxes. Like shooting someone above you could give disadvantage. But if gravity is reversed then the arrow is getting faster instead of loosing speed…

Honestly this so much reminds me of David Bowies the Labyrinth 1986 film given the idea of a character who can choose to either save the day set traps or just Force a party into making a deal

I'm somehow reminded of a character in The Tick animated series: Sewer Urchin. He was based on Dustin Hoffman's character in Rain Man, and he was pretty nerdy, awkward, and inept above ground, but when they had an adventure underground (in the sewers), he was utterly skilled, confident, and heroic. Setting is everything... 😎

This does sound like it can be a very fun and challenging subclass to use, but I think it would be good to multi class into something to help you when your not in a town or city, or even a ruin.

I'm working on a Circle Of The Moon Druid that is going take a 3 level dip into Barbarian for the Bear Totem. One of the really interesting bits about him is. His background is a Street Urchin. Whoever does one of the Circle of the City Druids should really consider that background.

This would be wild in Waterdeep or Drakkenheim. But it might work with stone walls or pillars in a dungeon. Or maybe wooden ship mayhem..

So basically this subclass makes you an earth bender from Avatar. But on a serious note, is it just me, or do most of the abilities also affect your allies? If so, a difficult subclass to use in a party.

A fun city druid idea for ppl who get bored of playing one char endlessly (If party and dm are cool with it) You are a city druid, and you gain your powers and lifeforce from a certain city. If you leave the city, you become weakened and ill and eventually could even die. When the party is in the city, they go to you immediately as a member of that chosen family, or maybe as you are connected to their organization etc. etc. whatever reasoning you decide for grouping up in the city Outside of the city, the party has another adventuring liaion that will often join them on adventures. In the city, there would be some explanation why they never join. Maybe they are even unable to enter the city for whatever reason. I have no clue what the logistics of this would be but it makes up for how utter trash this class is in the wilderness

this feels like a DM NPC subclass for do to how it made it works well for a NPC a party can meat like a boss of a group think how cool that is for they think that's a rogue or fighter hell for the DM's out there just think how the players react if they was chasing down a group of thefts and the next thing they know there are on the ceiling or the walls and street start moving in there way or the lord of the city is a City Druid and when he says "i control this city" he/she meant it litraly.

I really like this concept, but I don’t like it’s features. It feels like it’s city themed flavor on a circle of earth frame. I feel like a city Druid should deal with the tiny bits of nature within a city like rats and gardens.

Right but using the regular alotted druid abilities you can still do that!! For example the ability to communicate or grow plants, transform into sewer vermin, control water for sewage pipes, druidcraft to make weeds grow through the cobblestone etc

I have a lot of complain for this subclass but, fortunately, I've came up with a little suggestion for you that can remove all my complain and conserving the good of it. - Take this all subclass, and uproot it from the Druid class himself; - bring it faaaaaaaaaaaar away as humanly possible from the Druid class, because it have nothing remotely druidic in it; - substitute the Wild Shape cost of the ability, with 2 use per short or long rest; - Implant this subclass in the Artificer class, which makes A LOT more sense; - Call him "the Architect" or "the Master Builder" or something like that. Tell me what you think of it.
