Coho You can keep wild and hatchery ones out there in the sound Keep your videos coming I enjoy them I have been out there for awhile now and didn’t get much lluck with kings but the coho is awesome so far yesterday and today me and my other retired army friend limited out in three hours it was so good to leave the water before the crowds

I used to fish Point Defiance a lot with my cousin in the 80's. I used to rent the kicker boats at the marina there until I finally bought a boat. We used to fish the incoming tide more over on the Pt. Dalco side and outgoing from the point to the marina on the Luhr beach side. Mostly mooching and we caught a lot of salmon in August. Nice video!

@@markweber4854 thank you. I should fish it more. Closer than Westport..less gas, more sleep. 😆

What type of downrigger is that? I have never seen that type of downrigger. Great video.

I was out on the point mooching and after my drift through motored off to set up for another drift. As I was under low power I kept catching something out of the corner of my eye on both sides that scared the bejezus out of me at first. Turned out to be two 30' Beluga Whales on each side following me. I guess they thought the bug alum boat was near kin.

Nice fish. Area 11 August 1- Sept 1 regs say release wild chinook and chum but I think you are allowed to keep any silvers. I may be wrong but just wanted to let you know if you go back to Tacoma area.

@@tonyono7252 It's been a long time since fiahing there I should have checked the regs. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.

Well one fish is better then no fish. What kind of rod/reel do you use .
@NorthwestfishingfanaticsАй бұрын
the reelbis a Shimano Tekota 600 series left handed line counter. the rod is an Okuma SST 9.5ft 15-50lb fast action. Not your typical downrigging rod but I don't like the long salmon downrigging rods they make...

Kept foul hooked fish? What’s up with that?
@NorthwestfishingfanaticsАй бұрын
@@danm1319 it is not illegal to keep foul hooked fish in any Marine area. All anti snagging rules are drafted to stop people from intentionally snagging fish. Since it is impossible to intentionally snag fish while fishing in most salt water areas particularly while using traditional salt water tackle and gear, it is not illegal. Thanks for watching.

@@Northwestfishingfanatics not entirely.. that doesn't apply to some areas like in front of hoodsport hatchery and the tidal waters of the quilicene
