CITY HALL EMPLOYEE CALLS POLICE ON JOURNALIST FILMING! GETS AN EDUCATION INSTEAD! 1A AUDIT

On October 27th 2021 I was conducting a 1st Amendment Audit at the City Hall in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Everything was going great until I was approached by a City Hall employee named Tom. He informed me that they didn’t allow filming in City Hall because it was not “appropriate”
The Allentown Police were called and besides one officer who didn’t want to identify herself I thought they did a pretty decent job. My rights weren’t violated and they left without incident.
As I was about to leave, I ran into the Assistant Chief Of Police as well as the Chief Charles Roca, I had a great conversation with both of them and I felt like our dialogue really helped, even if only a little, bridge the gap between law enforcement and the public they are charged to serve and protect.

I used to watch these for the rush of citizens putting officers in their place. Its very refreshing to see good cops and agencies out there. They have a bit of a bad apple in their force, but the chiefs demeanor leads me to believe she will be reprimanded and corrected.

If you don't pay attention to dispatch calls sometimes the caller lies and that makes the response more than it should be BUT at least these officers didn't violate his rights and the chief is focused on protecting our rights. So I don't really know why you're calling someone a clown just seems like you're looking for reasons to be angry.

My first boss was a Justice of the peace and that is the kind of man he was he cared for people and respected their rights. So I see everyone saying "That chief and assistant chief are great cops and all cops should be like them." Now look, I am 100% in agreement that they did great in this situation, but to call them good cops is dangerous because we have no idea if it is true or not. Basically, they did great in this situation and it should be recognized, but do we honestly think he is holding his fellow cops accountable when they do something illegal? I highly doubt that. We shouldn't be saying these were great cops, but that they did great in this situation. It helps close the gap between extremist on both sides, BUT it still gives leeway for the public to expect them to be better in other important areas, most importantly, in my opinion, is them holding other cops to the same standard the laws they bestow upon normal citizens.
