I'm a cafeteria worker in a school built in 1948. The kitchen is so small and we all make everything in the tiny kitchen. It's cramped, we sure make it work. I've been at this old school going on a month now. It's fun and a bit confusing for me as I'm new. I do love my job. That's the thing. I'm happy to be a lunch lady. 👍🏽🙃

Schools in my area have early release on Wednesdays, elementary gets out at 2pm instead of 3 and middle/high school gets out at 12:30 instead of 2

I dont think the kids should have to pay, I think if they don't qualify for free meals then the parents should have to pay the school directly instead of giving the money to the child to pay. What that does is creates division among the kids. We've all seen it. The ones who pay think they're better and look down on those who don't pay and sometimes take it farther into bullying. Or give each kid a card to scan that way only the computer knows who's is free and who has to pay. Kids shouldn't have to deal with a financial aspect of it after all it's the parents responsibility not theirs let the kids be kids.

The bars have a things that I saw is a big no-no nails done jewelry that is no good if her jewelry falls in the food and the And the child eat their food and choke on the jewelry your boss is in a lot of trouble it’s in the handbook we’re not supposed to have any jewelry or fingernails done

They really serve chicken nuggets, hamburgers and that kind of shit to developing children? You can make healthy og simple food they'll enjoy. Where else are they going to eat. They don't have much choice but to eat what they serve in the cafeteria.

Hello, that's what they like to eat. Not what they serve everyday. I work in food service and yes we serve kids pizza and burgers as well as healthy chicken meals and very fresh fruit and vegetables.

They have other things to eat like vegetables, And the food has to pass a certain nutritional value to be served, And school food has more nutrients than the average food at home so, the food is perfectly fine and so are the students. Also gym in school exits for a reason🤣🤦‍♀️
