Whilst visiting the beautiful isle of Bute, I took myself on a 'City' Sightseeing Tour of the island!
It began in Rothesay the main town just opposite the ferry terminal, to Port Bannatyne, Ettrick Bay, Scalpsie Bay, Kingarth, Kilchattan Bay and Ascog. All very pretty places. If that wasn't enough - there is also a stop for the incredibly impressive Victorian mansion House - Mount Stuart. I am not the biggest fan of big posh homes but this place takes makes you go 'WOW' when you walk in! It is a must see if visiting Bute.
We booked through; www.citysightseeingbute.com and paid £15 each in 2023 and you can hop on and off, but remember, this is not London, this is Bute, so the bus travels the route only 4 times a day so plan well.

That was a really great video you made, making Bute look like a must visit place to go. I think Mount Stuart House is a very beautiful building, inside & out. You had interesting weather for your bus tour which you captured very well. Great views of the Firth of Clyde! Thanks for that.

Great stuff! Took me back to my childhood when we spent most summers there. Sweet Rothesay bay! Ettrick Bay where the water seemed to go out for miles and we walked all the way there from Ardbeg. Coffee cuises to the Kyles of Bute with a coffee and a Penguin biscuit included. Creamola Foam! And the rain but we didn't care.

So many beautiful places on Bute, beaches, the stunning Mount Stuart, the ruined St Blanes church in the south and Ascog with it's Tudor type houses. Waverley paddle steamer visits Rothesay in the summer.

bella fotografia. Hostile hotel facing port All drinks seemed to be tghtly packed nescaffy. Half shops losed. lScarcely any restaurants. Very boring bus hourned - had about 10 passengers. Evening nothin to do. No swimming pools, everything very early. No funfair, lkamusment. 'Beaches' looked fake. Glad to escape on efficient ferry (loung refreshments closed). Un bel di vedremo
