Just finished the Victor Idaho walk. First of all, I like when either you or Melinda talk during the walk. Like you said, others can turn down the volume. I like the talking because it is like sharing a walk with a friend and not just walking by one's self. I have more of an affinity with the western states. That town is amazing for having only 2500 people. Even if someone bought a large lot and built some "tiny houses" it would be neat. Those mountains are so nice. I wonder why more people haven't moved there. Thanks so much once again.

Hi Victoria, loving these comments. Funny you mention more people moving there because it's growing so fast it is causing some real problems with affordable housing. There's a lot of service industry jobs there that don't pay enough for the high prices that result from such increased demand. Especially since most of that demand is for higher end homes. Land owners and developers focus on that segment of the market rather than the lower end. Lots of other issues too but you are right, it is incredibly beautiful there, especially in June and July. Keep on steppin' -H

I appreciate this video soo much. 💗 I grew up in Teton Valley and we primarily lived in Victor. I still have dreams about getting a huckleberry shake, summers with the forest service and working at the Knotty Pine. So many wonderful times. Thank you and sending love to you and everyone you love. 🥰

Thanks for showing the local flora. seeing other people's garden ideas makes the walk, a good walk. I am so fortunate to have "H" as my travel Channel guide, alot better than travel channels as their focus is more small parts where as H does the whole town...like a curious tourist. The talking and comments and explanations of the shops etc is awsum. Nice mural on that wall. Love this channel !!

I especially appreciate your venturing onto the residential blocks. Most travel videos of course won't delve into those places and many of us want to know what the whole town looks like, or at least get a feel of it all. This is what it looks like to someone living there or perhaps even visiting as opposed to the videos that are edited to only show the "attractions" or hot spots. I am exploring small rural towns to move to and this is a great way to get a more accurate picture of what it's like, at least in the summer anyway. :) Thanks Henry. Oh and you're very good at this. Keep the talking in please.

Thanks for this walk Henry. I'm a big fan of your continued exploration of small towns. It was nice to see some of the meadows being allowed to grow wild, and I'm sure bees appreciate it. I'm curious as to what huckleberries taste like? They seem similar to maple syrup in Vermont inasmuch as that they are used in any type of confectionary treat imaginable. Take care.

It's a great sales thing for tourists but they pretty much taste like blueberries to me. Huckleberry ice cream is a pretty nice treat in summer. -H

having the main street be a highway is a horrible idea
@CityWalks2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree but these things come about through innertia. The town grew slowly and the traffic was negligible for decades so stores and shops sprouted up where it was easiest. Now that it's busy and crowded, it's infinitely more difficult to move the center of business and activity off that main road. It's like how our road lanes are directly linked to the width of Roman chariots. -H
