Break-ins In Washington state, at least three cannabis producers/processors were broken into at the end of November. According to Jade Stefano, founder of Puffin Farm, her Seattle processing facility was broken into Nov. 25. Another cannabis business a few blocks away was also hit, followed by a break-in at a producer/processor in Kitsap County. Stefano saw video of the other burglaries and concluded they were all committed by the same people. That led her to contact the LCB to ask that the online map of the producers/processors be removed. “Since the break-in we no longer feel safe and we do not understand why the WSLCB is providing our information on their website in convenient map format to criminals looking to cause us terrible harm,” Stefano wrote in an email to the agency. She also pointed out that her business, which has been licensed since 2014, generates an average of more than $1 million per year in sales at the processor level and amounts to about $1 million per year in tax revenue for the state. All told, that makes nearly $5 million in tax generated from the products Puffin Farm has produced to date. Among other requests, Stefano would like the state to allocate funds and task an LCB employee with tracking all reported crimes, such as robberies, against licensed cannabis facilities. She would like to see the LCB communicate with law enforcement agencies around the state to attempt to quantify the extent of the problem and solve the crimes to protect licensed marijuana business owners. “It’s not just a matter of livelihood,” Stefano said. “We actually feel like we could be the victim of a violent crime.” To help protect against another break-in, Puffin Farm plans to spend thousands of dollars in safety upgrades, including an improved security guard presence. Micah Sherman, owner of producer/processor Raven Grass in Olympia, also wants the state to remove the locations of cannabis businesses from the website. He said his facility has been broken into three times since 2014. Sherman lost some “low-value stuff” such as trim, tools and computers amounting to about $5,000. Nothing major was stolen, but he felt his business was disproportionately targeted nonetheless. Traceability targeting? Some media reports have drawn a connection between the state’s track-and-trace system and criminal activity. But several cannabis business owners and industry watchers say there isn’t any evidence that criminals have used information from MJ Freeway’s Leaf Data Systems to determine what or how much cannabis a company is holding at one time.

Tacoma is ghetto as hell but it’s so pretty
@tyrone64813 жыл бұрын
if you see Tacoma as "ghetto" you really need to get out more. I see more ghetto out here in Spokane than I see ANYDAY in Tacoma (South Hill the exception lol) But seriously, the city as a whole is pretty ok. It aint all "hoity-toity" if that's what you mean, sure. Definately not a snobby city. Sure, it's got it's spots and everything, but its certainly not as ghetto as a lot of other cities it's same size back east YOU HAVE NO IDEA LOL!!!!!!

Interesting I was thinking of moving here, I looked up the crime rates and they are much higher than average compared to where I currently live. Having said that I used to live in Chicago prior to my current location and I didn't have one incident occur or witness a crime the whole 5 years I lived there. I presume there are some dangerous neighborhoods in Tacoma

What an outdated view. I have friends of different backgrounds who said they feel safe there. Even people from the area and Seattle said Tacoma has changed so much in a positive way.

LOL its not the same city it was in the 80s. I thought it was like that way too until I started hanging out - but yeah, today downtown Tacoma today is NIGHT AND DAY different from the old "Posse on Broadway" days lol. Its not perfect paradise, but no different than any other downtown nowadays, maybe a little better
