This building system is outstanding, but I admit that it really frustrates me that there are these games out there that have amazing building systems, with very limited, or non-existent gameplay outside of the building. I see building like this, and I just see what it could be. I can't really get that much out of building things for the sake of building them; there has to be something to do with them once they're built. If this was a bit of a Sims-like, I'd be all over it. It could be more sit-back-and-watch kind of gameplay where you see how they want to live in the home you've built; with you maybe dropping in to build an extension for the growing household. Time could even pass fast enough that you get to watch many generations living there. Just seeing kids randomly playing, or a gardener sowing or harvesting in the veg patch would add so, so much

@TheDawnofVanlife3 ай бұрын
@@LostAccount404I mean what the OP is talking about is kind of close to the original idea of the Sims (1) when it was in early development where the thought was the Sims would basically judge how well you built their house. It wasn’t so much about you playing the Sims (like what Sims actually became) OR managing some massive ‘city’ (like Sim City). It was just gonna be like building and having a little feedback loop for gameplay. Obviously it became something else. But I think it would be interesting to at least see a bit of glade-ers interacting with and reacting to what’s built without massive city systems to watch or gladers to manage. I think the game looks beautiful, but I too find it hard to play without a goal for the result…that also just might mean the game isn’t for me. 😂 which is ok.

@@CityPlannerPlays Yeah, I can totally get why people would like it - it's like painting or something like that where you purely concentrate on the aesthetics.

Just bought this last night and as I downloaded it I said "i wanna see city planner play this" and you already have! Super chill Sunday morning coffee vibes and I can't wait for a day off

A build system like this in a game like Planet Coaster would be absolute perfection. Looks so fun!

I can see this game being super useful for artists that want to paint fantasy buidings, you can build what you want and se any angle you want. Awesome, as an artist myself I might use it for my creations too! ^^

I'm impressed with the natural tone of the artificially generated voice over into Portuguese. It's still detectable because the narrator keeps switching from Brazilian to Portuguese accents even though the vocabulary is mostly Brazilian. Also, some expressions are clearly literal translations from English (unusual use of words).

I am an admittedly bad city builder on Cities, bad zoo builder on Planet Zoo and pretty bad house builder on The Sims...but I love all of those games for the unlimited design potential and the ability for them to be relatively casual if I want them to be. But this game has captured my attention because it is, by default, casual and you can't fail, unlike the other simulators. Everything is right at your fingertips and you don't have milestones to hit, nor do you have to try to figure out where the money is going to come from. You just get to meander through the game. The graphics and music were both intelligently designed to give the gamer a calming and delightful atmosphere to build in. I got the free trial of this and immediately bought the full version once it came out. Bravo to the game devs, I can't believe it's their first but I'm with you - I don't think it'll be their last. This is one of the best casual simulation games to be released in recent years.

My type of game. I usually enjoy single player, city builder and medieval time. If economy + city builders game could integrate this level of integration to their games, that would be freaking awesome.

I've been receiving tiny glades newsletter for about two years now. It's been awesome to watch the game grow and I finally got to play it back during steam next fest. I've really wanted another game similar to townscaper or dothromantic for a while now. Can't wait for it to release!

If you like the puzzle element of Dorfromantik, you might also like Islanders. They describe themselves as "minimalist citiy builder", but you really build towns and outskirts on islands. The puzzle is figuring out how to layout the buildings because they have likes/dislikes for other buildings in their area.

When you were building your patios you said "Don't let perfect be the enemy of good" which is a great point But you also can see patios/buildings being added onto and you can see clear lines of bricks where the walls used to be on old historical buildings like in the game!

Yesss finally. I want more games like this. Modern, future, different cultures, etc. Just a relaxing builder about building without any other gimmicks. Something to have fun with. I've been playing a ton of Satisfactory 1.0 and I'm like mentally exhausted after every session. Games like these are great for the weekdays when I need to give my analytical brain a break and just enjoy being creative. Hope it's popular and they can add more styles after release. The tech is awesome.

I don't know about others, but i feel like this would be amazing to use as a reference for minecraft builds. you are creating your own references, instead of using existing ones and you have a ton of fun doing so.
