Everyone always thinks Germany's public transport is always on time. It's not. When riding a train, it is more often not on time than it is on time.
@ericofantasticoАй бұрын
@@ctm92 Yeah, no. Public transport in Germany is not delayed as much as long-distance trains (~60% punctuality; delay < 6 min). Regional train services and commuter rail aswell as busses are pretty solid and have a higher punctuality (~90%).
@automation7295Ай бұрын
@@ericofantastico > Public transport in Germany is not delayed Well it probably depends on the scenario and/or where you are. Buses are usually frequent in cities, some bus routes aren't as frequent and might come every 15 minutes. Delays can happen with any bus services. Such as a bus breaking down at the bus stop, or due to inconvenient traffic, or some idiot blocking the bus lane, etc.
@automation7295Ай бұрын
@@ctm92 No pubic transport is 100% perfect.

@@automation7295 Ofc public transport has delays and I never wrote it doesn't. I wrote that it "is not delayed as much as long distance trains". There is btw a great video about german public transport and its dealys by "Traines" called "Pünktlichkeit ist eine Verteilung" (punctuality is a distribution); it also has english subtitles and is very objective.

@@CityPlannerPlays tbh, a lot of city planning principles translates very directly into architectural layout and interior decoration - managing the flow of "traffic" (i.e. walking around your house) to your "destinations" (i.e. points of interest like desks, appliances, etc.). Even things like building barriers to hide more unsightly things and to reduce noise in specific areas like bedrooms - as well as things like beautifying areas to make people want to spend more time there. Very surprising amounts of the skill sets overlap.

The timetables are very powerful. By combining timetables you can make branches, short-turn trips, peak hour extension and express trips or deviations. You do this by turn on or off bus stops for each timetable. If a bus stop I'd turn off for a timetable the bus will ignore that stop. It's a lot of fun.
