Well... We still boil our beer in Europe. It's just in a huge pots and during the process of making the beer. Nobody would boil beer from a bottle. I mean there are some lunatics 🤣

The idea of Raw Ale or Farmhouse Ale is done in many parts of Europe too :)

Can we just get a brewing history at some point? I dont know how much yall really dig into that kind of thing but a history of the craft and the fun oddities that pop up in history would make for a really fun series to watch!

The problem is... there's not a lot of actual information out there on early brewing since... it's like cooking, people just did it. Much of what we think we all know about early brewing is just myth and legend, not really based on facts.

Even no boil/raw ale still gets pasteurised. Plus boiling offers the opportunity to add and benefit from quality hop additions, better hot side finings and usually better brew day efficiency from ya grains. But each to their own really.

Actually no boil would only if it were all grain. Which, let's be honest, they probably aren't doing extracts, so yeah... you're right.

So are you using flint water? I don't understand your point. Surely you are using quality ingredients and for you boiling it is a decision, not a necessity?
@CitySteadingBrews7 ай бұрын
Beer is boiled for many reasons. Not sure I understand what you're accusing us of. For most beer makers, the boil is an essential step for concentration of the wort and isomerization of the hops.. The Raw Ale method doesn't use a boil.

@@CitySteadingBrews I'm not trying to accuse yall of anything, just in the short you only mention sanitary reasons for boiling, so I was confused why you would do it in modern times with food grade ingredients and equipment. I get it now tho, thanks!
