I loved both of your Omaha videos, you really captured the charm of my hometown. I used to live in our modest Flatiron building and walked to work everyday up those stairs you went by at 9:00, that was a fun memory. If you ever get back to Omaha I think you would enjoy walking through Midtown Crossing to Mutual of Omaha's headquarters then through Blackstone. Other fun walks would be Creighton University then North Downtown and also going through the all the 90 acres of parks that are under construction then over the Missouri River to Iowa on the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge. Glad you enjoyed my hometown.

I've heard good things. a little less dense than what I would want but still clean and some historical architecture.

Thanks. Interesting, I think of midwestern cities as having a lot of sprawl, and maybe Omaha does, but the downtown was fun. Thanks for watching and commenting. -H

Thank you Henry. I drove through Omaha back in the 90s, but I have no memory of it. I enjoyed your attention to the architecture in this walk, especially some of the smaller details. Midwest cities are much less congested than the New England cities I'm used to which I guess can be good and bad. I did comment on the previous Omaha walk, but I included a link to a magazine article, so I think KZbin assumed is spam. Happy holidays!
@CityWalks2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Tom. Yes, I keep discovering old comments that KZbin has screened out and then revealed weeks later. It’s a bit frustrating. Feel free to share the link on Patreon though. I’d be interested to see it. All the best. - H

If you're in the area again you might enjoy walking parts of Grand Island. Downtown has interesting buildings such as the courthouse and Carnegie Library. The 3rd and 4th Street business areas have a lot of neat international shops and restaurants. The Stuhr Museum has an iconic Edward Stone building and a railroad town full of historic buildings.

I was stationed just south of Omaha, 3 times between `78-`86. It nice to see how much/little it has changed since `86. When I was first stationed there I ate at "The Spaghetti Works" all the time. I was a poor young enlisted man at the time. TSW was CHEAP and a good time.
