That is what the rock quarry looks like in Bayport, Michigan. It is broken up with lakes and forests inside of it. Love the episode and I'm glad the algorithm made you pop. I subscribed, and I'm looking forward to more.

A suggestion for the future. Don't start with the small coal power plant. If you do, you are always running out of power and needing to build more of them. Use windmills until you can buy a gas plant. Way more efficient. Also, if you have early money problems, just build a couple of industries like farms or stone quarries. No more money problems. And this helps you get the money for a gas plant pretty quickly. As your city grows, either move the industry or ween yourself off of them entirly.
@CityZilla5 ай бұрын
Thanks boki! I usually stay away from the windmills because of how low there power generation is but it makes sense to use it as a stop gap for gas. Thanks for the suggestion! We do get into industry pretty quickly 😁
@anthonyortali32605 ай бұрын
@@CityZilla The wind turbines have one big advantage they have no labor cost. So you can build as many as you need and upgrade them to provide more power. Upkeep will cost you, but without the labor cost you can add more any time you have any cash.
@boki16935 ай бұрын
@@CityZilla I made the comment before you started making the industry. With the windmills, each windmill has two upgrades that helps with power a lot.

I'll have to check that out. I do think the windmills look a bit better as well. Thank you!

I tend to starve the commercial zoning now. It seems to drag down other zones if there's a lot of unoccupied commercial buildings. I add it as needed and rely on industry and low density office zones for jobs. This has been a profitable strategy for me, so far.
@CityZilla5 ай бұрын
I think that's how we are going to have to do it. It doesn't appear as though commercial can be relied on to fill in a lot of those empty spaces anymore

What's been the deal with the commercial demand in the game?? I knew it wasn't just me. No matter what factors come into play, it's like after the first 5 shops there is 0 demand, and then it becomes increasingly problematic to build wealth. Dev's really gotta do something about it cause all of my cities have failed one after another due to that specific issue
@CityZilla5 ай бұрын
I have found a lot of it is attributed to the wealth factor. I try to keep taxes low enough to not choke residents and focus on high rise districts as this is the main driver for wealth. Affordable housing. The devs are aware of the many problems we have though. I hope to see some more updates here soon. We are still having the workplace problems with offices as well which is a big problem

I have gotten into the habit of always placing them down. As the city expands you start to have bottlenecks in your electrical supply so you have to place the transformer stations around your city
