worker 1st is normally the best choice as improving your terrain is huge.

To be fair, as Mongolia starts with scout tech and this was Prince difficulty AND there are goodie huts/tribal villages, that makes a scout opener to get 2 scouts running around a perfectly good opener as well. Just my opinion, a great opener would have been scout then worker. The opening improvements would have been to get the 2 corn going for growth, then the bare hill for production, then, due to the scout tech start, at least 1 of the beavers for an extra happiness allowing the capital up to 6 pop. To be fair (once more), Potato does state he isn't familiar with the game. Thus I won't fault his early choices.

I'm excited for this new play through! Don't worry too much about overlap with your cities. A little overlap can be good, since it means your cottages are more likely to have a citizen available to work them, and cottages don't grow unless their worked!

Sorry I missed this video when it first came out. Civ 4 is a whole different level of difficulty compared to Civ 6 so this should be a pretty interesting learning experience. Thanks for doing it.

Good. I haven't won yet myself even on chief level (I have won a couple of Civ 6 games on King level). Have been using the BUG Mod since that seems to be used by a lot of people as it gives more info. Also thought about using the Better BAT AI mod which also includes the BUG mod as well as some other stuff. I play both to this day. There are things I prefer about both. For Civ4 the complexity is the right level for me. I haven't purchased the most recent 3 updates for Civ6 because I don't feel the need to have heroes, secret societies or natural disasters. I like tech trading. I prefer the civilization traits in Civ4. I like building a spaceship as well. I like the animals as barbs to start with. I like the random quests as well. I prefer the culture game in Civ4. Different civilizations seem more balanced. The BUG mod definitely adds a nice kick of difficulty to the game, which I like, despite the fact it keeps me from playing on the top difficulties. For Civ6 I enjoy getting away from SoDs. (Stacks of Doom) Combat feels more tactical. Ranged unit actually have range. While I like the government system in Civ4, I prefer the one in Civ6. It is different to have 2 tech trees, but I think a 3rd would be too much. The natural wonders are a great addition to the game. Not needing specific resources to produce unique units is a MASSIVE improvement. Due to liking things about both, I will continue to bounce between the two.

Who is the go to person to learn top tier civ 4 play from? I can watch potatomcwhiskey for civ 6, and some other people, I can watch suedecivIII for civ III, but despite civ 4 being a fan favorite I don’t know who to get tips from.

Weird that i would get this in my recommend feed..? I actually played a civ iv game recently. Was on turn 250ish, some fucker declared war with a 20 unit stack and it was gg. God bless civ v engine! Civ vi after the update; steam disk write error. Reinstalling windows....
