Civilization 6 is a fun meme game where you can fight people as Gandhi, in this video series I will explore a variety of topics teaching people the fundamental gameplay methods to get good at playing the game. A sort of how to play civ 6, sometimes called "Civ 6 Overexplained"

Bringing up why you do things and recommendations to allow us to tailor in our own games is great teaching! Thanks!

Just gotta say, I found your channel through your Arabia overexplained, and man was it the start of a Civ 6 revelation. Went from bumbling around in prince to constantly flexing on Diety AI (when they don’t frame 1 bum rush me lol)! Hope this new one helps any future newcomers as I know it’ll still be entertaining to watch for a 1000+ hr vet like me.

One of his tips that really helped me was that if you want to get a religion early you can ignore the shrine and just pray (holy site prayers project) because you get more total prophet points for the same time investment. And then all of his videos in general help with learning new (to me) mechanics/strategies/tips. Things like settle on that luxury and pin everything (not just city center locations), also his 3 cities cooperating on 3 industrial districts with 3 aquaducts is just such an obvious but galaxy brain move.

@lauej
@lauej 2 жыл бұрын
Around 9:52 it is worth considering the faster growth will make you able to work more tiles faster. So while the monument may seem like it will take 3 more turns, but actually if you do the math, the monument will be made faster on the 3 food 1 production tile. Why? Because you get the second population 3 turns faster (on the 3 food 1 production tile), which means you will have 3 more turns with 2 more production. That, compared to having 5 turns with 1 less production, meaning youll end up with a total of one production less, by not working the 3 food 1 production.
@dirrdevil
@dirrdevil Жыл бұрын
I think your theory works, but it's really difficult to follow what you mean in this specific instance. Which 3 food / 1 production tile should have been worked in place of what other tile that actually ended up being worked?

oooh my god i really thought i knew just about everything about this game, but i can’t believe i didn’t realize that putting a city under siege just requires enough units to exercise zone of control on every tile around it. i’ve been completely surrounding the city with units, now i know i can do it with far less. this is actually a game changer for me, thank you.

Unfortunately video games lately (not all) require all these DLC's so you can have full fun and potential that the game has. 28:15 IMO it would have made more sense to settle your 2nd city next to the left on the lake because it would have gave you more workable tiles to work (the 2 ivory tiles) and ESPECIALLY when a city is just starting out, you need workable tiles to get your city going.

2 things thing I ALWAYS look for when I settle a new city (ESPECIALLY my capital) is first and foremost, settling on a river. I LOVE the water mill. So much that a non-river city has to be amazing or I'm grabbing it for some completely different reason, say to grab Zangy Dangy. The second thing I look for is floodplains for industrial zone complexes.

I love early war and how different it is depending on difficulty . By this I mean the risk and reward of the whole situation like I am playing a game currently with nubia on immortal and I had a lot of camps combined with a lot of city states which allowed me to spam out Nubian archers and take 2 of the Congo cities . Now this took alot of investment but because I was playing on a higher difficulty this meant that while it was harder to capture the Ai also had much higher development in there cities and I got a temple of arteries and 2 districts free . Now if I was on a lower difficulty It might of actually not been worth it to go to war as the ai sucks with placing cities and without the extra things they built it may just of been better to settle . The point of this point is civ 6 difficulty is interesting as in theory if you have a game where you spawn on a continent by yourself and your diplomatic it may be easier to develop as you will have stronger allies .
