I also like the map, but....doesn't its shape maybe prevent early DoW's, with less border friction? Thanks for the great season and entertainment, hope to see you soon with the next one! We can handle distractions if you can! Congrats to your family!

Of course the mirroring is off, it's a map with six-way symmetry on tiles with four-way symmetry. Clearly the solution to this conundrum is to play the next season in Civ6! /s

AI just can't stick an elimination, I've seen maybe 2 or 3 eliminations in my almost 2000 hours of civ 6... I've even been outright killed myself on civ 5 a few times, but 6 AI is somehow even worse. All games'd just be clicking next turn a lot while watching the brainless skirmishing. Hopefully civ 7 makes the AI competative again (the change to less micromanagement should help at least)

Thanks for the content. I started watching you at game 6 this season and I've been completely hooked. I'm really sad there isn't gonna be an AI survivor series for a long time so I really hope there is other Civ4 content though. Maybe not a full season but some casual Ai games could be cool, idk. Congrats on your baby and hope everything goes awesome for you!

Thanks for all the content in this series, much appreciated. I think the new map is fine. The blobby type normal championship map is OK, but it's a bit too dependant on who is next to who, who is in the middle etc. And I agree, with different civs, there'd be a lot more war. I don't think it matters too much that wars come a bit later on this map - the early wars on normal random maps never accomplish anything because they come before catapults anyway, they just slow down one over-aggressive civ and one unlucky victim. Hope the new baby (congrats) allows for a series next year.

Elizabeth historically was actually quite lenient towards religion, compared the other leaders at the time or her predecessor Mary. Catholics not holding office, was not a policy during her reign either. Freedom of religion for her is similar to ancient Persian freedoms, sure it wasn't equal but it was great compared to it's surrounding countries. Compare Elizabeth to the rulers before her and the rulers around her. Not to modern times.

What a finish, some of the closest results we've seen I think? Especially for Championship, which often ends us with a bit of a whimper.

Seems like a map like this punishes warmongers. Since everyone gets a fairly good baseline territory there are no sitting ducks to conquer early and get the ball rolling.

Map is a little large. Maybe start them nearer the center of the map

Yeah... So I scored 1 measly point in the championship game. A fitting end to a, for me personally, horrible season!

The map is fine I think but the furs on the tips of the northetnmost and southernkost spiral arms should be exchanged for calendar resources like on the other starting positions. +1 happiness with hunting is not an insignificant advantage.

Augustus: Most of you are undisciplined weaklings, but certainly played their cards well to earn this spot... Unlike some others.... *side-eyes to Gin* Churchill Was basically Emperor Palpatine of this round to bring the darkest impulses out of Gandhi. Once again kinda bland winner with awesome runner up.
