I’m an advertising creative and trying to get into civil service. Influencing, to sell your ideas, to me is never a win or lose situation - the ideal place is where all parties feel collaborative, but you are the advice giver for certain decisions - because the outcome is ultimately your responsibilty. As the creative it is your job to have the clear vision, but stakeholders will want to feel like they had some input, however small. It points to them not being able delegate, or wanting to say to others “I made this” without feeling like they’re not being truthful. Just give stakeholders reassurance that they have influenced the outcome, whether it’s true or not. Ego management.

I have an interview next week and I have to do a presentation for one of the questions ‘working together’. What advice would you give? How would you deliver the presentation? Don’t want to do too much or not enough. Thanks 😊

I would talk about times where you've worked as a team or a small group to deliver something and talk about how you work in a team i.e your role. Do you connect people, are you the leader etc. Presentation I would keep it short (maybe prep some cue cards for yourself to use) and then focus on 3 main points you want them to take away from the presentation. Don't worry too much about the intro/outro as they already know who you are etc from your CV. Good luck!

I have an interview very soon , been years since I experienced going to an interview 😭 . It’s for business admin role in prison . The description for the interview assessment doesn’t list any strength questions only behavioural? (Changing and Improving,Communicating and Influencing, Delivering at Pace, Seeing the Big Picture and Working Together) what does this mean? I will be asked multiple behavioural questions? Help !!!

I have an interview on 23rd instant for the EO Research Finance Administrator role under DWP where includes this behaviour with the other two behaviours.
