For my own reference too, the 5 things are : 1. Exercise before interview for 30-40 minutes hard exercise e.g., running. 2. Keep it to yourself, dont tell friends and family until you get the job. 3. Ring someone before interview to warm up conversational muscles. 4. Don't get ready too early e.g., 3 hours early when unnecessary. 5. Plan something fun for after e.g., going out to dinner, watching a film you wanted to watch.

Jac, firstly, I just want to say a massive thank you for these videos. The advice, hints, tips and info you are giving are without doubt absolutely spot on and super useful. And I want to say to everyone who watches this particular video, the tip on having a chat or joining a meeting before an interview is excellent. I try and have a meeting that involves specific work related chat r technical jargon just so it gets my brain functioning for what is going to be a work related interview. But be warned if you're someone like me who can chat and chat and chat, keep an eye out for how long you give your answers for. I was told at one interview that they would only take the 3 minutes of my answer and discard the other x minutes (I'm too embarrassed to say what x was).

I agree with the point number 2: they are families and friends want to see your best remember you have fake , toxic and negative people want to keep your sucess down by telling your plans , the best thing to do is that we need to keep that to ourselves and show the best results once geting the job !

Same, I never tell my Mum especially as she goes on too much about it and it gives me more anxiety than I already have and then I end up cancelling the interview. I still get nervous even after 20 years on and off of going to them so they never get any easier for me. Glad I stumbled upon your channel, great tips there! Thanks.

I agree with not telling. I've never told about having an interview, only if the person was helping with competences or something. It's also helpful when the interview doesn't go well and you don't get the job, you don't have to explain to anyone !

Hi Jac, I followed your advice and got a job offer the next day with the Civil Service. I get anxiety prior to an interview especially when my mum keeps asking me questions about it, so I never tell her if I have an intèrview. She makes me feel more anxious. Thanks for all your tips. 😊👍🏾

I’ll use these tips, and I’m super nervous even though I know the company very well and prepared myself and the stories. I just never had an interview, and I’m only 21 years old, and being interviewed for an operational role at Amazon is making my nerves more. In two days, I hope I do great, and all the nervousness doesn’t come up. Thank you!

For a online interview I would try start the day as near to normal as you would normally. I did my last 2 online interviews from a room in my office and reserved the room I used. I only tell anyone on a need to know basis that way it adds less pressure as you say . I have been lucky with the online ones as I havenot been asked to be dressed differenlty to the way I normally would for work. The first time since before pandemic I had a face to face interview it fealt odd being wearing a suit.as well as traveling on my own to an office on London over an hour from where I live. I have had to go back to work or have my lunch and return to work after interiveiws . I avoid first thing in the morning and late afternoon interviews if I have theoption of selcting a time .

I thought this would be another bland and generic self-help/mental health video with tips like "believe in yourself" and "don't overthink" but I was pleasantly surprised. These are some very good tips and advice, especially the exercise part and planning something for yourself regardless of how well the interview goes, Cheers.
