I thought I knew so much about Civil War, but I straight up had no idea Danny was Daredevil at this point. Honestly, I don't think Mark Millar did either😂😂😂

Danny must have really been playing into it with the Judas and the silver piece bit. That line is soaked, slapped, and slathered in Catholic guilt that little Matt Murdock grew up with

So happy to have found this podcast within the last two weeks, the chaotic nature is definitely my type of humor. As someone who’s born in 94 and has been into superhero content for a very long time, mostly because of the cartoons and games and of course the movies, I really enjoy your takes and coverage on everything. I own several physical comic books and have read some of the big ones over the years. But I never really deep dived into the comic sphere in a while or as much as I really should have. I’m finally going to subscribe to Marvel Unlimited now and it’s thanks to you guys for fueling my passion again. Maybe I’ll add a few more to the bookshelf. As I’m getting older, I seem to love these stories even more and have a greater appreciation for them. Which is why it’s awesome to go over familiar and new stories alongside y’all. Thank you truly. On another note. I’m also super glad I found this podcast while it’s still smaller and sort of a ‘pop the trunk’ type of production before it eventually gets bigger. Your guys’ passion cannot be faked, and that is why it’s such a treat to listen to your banter. I feel like Slater sometimes when Brent is explaining something, it’s nice to have her fresh takes alongside Troy and Brent’s takes. If you guys could share your thoughts on Donny Cates new Venom run or his Thor run I would appreciate it. Or anything in the horror genre. Also more DC animation talk is always awesome. You’ve definitely got a fan in me, this is absolutely my favorite podcast to listen to now at work (other than Bill Burrs podcast lol) I just need more episodes. Sometimes I watch the video version afterwards just to see the funny edits/moments, shoutout to your editor. I look forward to more epic stories that yall cover in the future. Excelsior! Edit: didn’t realize how long this comment was last night when I had a few drinks. Fuck it. I’m leaving it now

FWIW Slater was just doing a bit at 45:49. Brent writes all of our summaries - so if he was Mansplaining, he was mainsplaining his own summaries.

Captain marvel got cancer during a fight with nitro the guy who blew up the school in stanford in this comic , theres a comic called the death od captajn marvel and the skrulls show up to give him a medal in respectt but the kree dontwhich is great and i recommend it , mar vell (captain marvel ) and the skrull princess are hulkings parents . Mar vell actualy came back during civil war via time travel but he was actually a skrull so mar vell is one of the only charachters where death matters
@blackcatbluesАй бұрын
Love the podcast, HATED civil war. It made me rethink reading newer comics and secret invasion cemented that. It was the first time I felt they were bringing too much of writers' biases and the whole thing felt so disingenuous. For the record I read it in the 6th grade so maybe I was too naive/moody, but ever since then I pretty strictly stuck to the seventies and eighties Marvel (Old Man Logan was an exception). Glad you guys liked it tho

I think what ruined this comic for me was trying to stupidly read ever single tie in comic in chronological order

Im almost convinced most of the comments for this pid are bots. This is the third episode im trying because i like troy and the shorts make me think theyre actually talking comics but its just chaos and no direction or focus which makes the titles seem like clickbait even tho this one has more actual comic content than the others i tried so far. I love the comedy but can you guys please try to remember to talk about the comics as well as keep it funny. Not trying to be an asshole just really wanna hear the takes as well as the humor.

3:23 I couldn't agree more!!! Civil War was the first huge crossover I read when I was younger and first getting into comics and it hooked me. Spider-man has Ana amazing story, iron man and cap obviously have great stories. But I absolutely love the storyline with the punisher during civil War, and can't forget robbie Baldwins arc. Absolutely iconic.

Ok, Brent needs to chill with the “Mark Millar is a legend” talk. Those ideals are why we get a shitty adaptation of one of his comics per year lol

It’s not Mark Millars fault that those adaptations are shitty. Really only a couple of them are anyway. Kick Ass, and the 1st and 3rd Kings man movies are great.
