i think span to effective depth ratio for continuous slab should be 26 as the shorter span is not less than or equal to 3.5m and live load is not less than 3kn/m^2......32 is possible if the span to effective depth is less than or equal to 3.5m and live load is less than 3kn/m^2 as mentioned in clause24.1 is 456:2000

Assumption as we will be in safe side considering simply supported. The ratio is smaller for it as compared to continuous.

for αx and αy, ly and lx values should not be taken as effective span , it should be the given dimension which is ly=5m and lx=4m. There wouldnt be much difference but mistake is mistake.

It is most incorrect method I have ever seen of designing a two way slab , this is not is code method , please stop making people fool by solving it in any way you want . Mostly all your concepts are incorrect , read is code and some standard book rather than making a method of your own !
