Civilian to Soldier

Firing your rifle gets old quick. Especially when you're waiting around on the ranges to do a night shoot in June, then having to clean your rifle at 0100hrs before handing it back in to the armoury at 0200hrs. Then having to be up early (probably around 0530hrs) because the block is in shit order because your platoon dragged half of the ranges through it last night which means it now needs cleaning for a morning inspection. Then due to the summer heat wave you'll be doing your Battle Fitness Test first thing immediately afterwards before it gets too hot. Then some sad sack will fuck up somewhere dragging the platoon in to a beasting and late evening drill and inspection before you get dicked for fire duty while the lads wave at you through the guard room as they go out on the town and meet some tail. LOVED IT!!!!
