As Inca take the commerce policy that makes roads 50% cheaper. It stacks with the Great Andean Road to remove all the cost. You can then have roads, EVERYWHERE!
@netanyelrucker
@netanyelrucker 10 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't that just be 25%. Full Matainace/Great Andean Road = 50% cost/Mantainace Policy = 25% cost
@Gringrot123

Nope, Civ add percentage discounts, and doesn't multiply them up, So it 100% - 50% - 50%.

Terrace farms are just insane, you should really prioritize getting maximum adjacent mountains for hills, to a point where I think settling your second city a few tiles south may have been better. You can get insane tiles, like up to 5 food, 2 hammers from those hills. At least should consider that for your third city since going north might piss off Napoleon a bit.

Terrace Farms get the bonus food from Mountain tiles directly adjacent. For example, near the river with the 2 Wheat there's a Hill tile with 4 adjacent mountains. That means that if you build a Terrace Farm there that one tile will give you 6 food (with Fertilizer) and 2 hammers before multipliers.
@shivangpatel4640
@shivangpatel4640 10 жыл бұрын
quill, the terrace farm receives +1 food for each directly adjacent mountain, so really it's a good idea to settle near the mountains by that copper.
@dontnormally
@dontnormally 10 жыл бұрын
In case you haven't read up on it yet, the terrace farms actually get +1 food for *every* adjacent mountain, so potentially up to +6 food (+1 base, +0to5 for mountains).
@MyTomServo

It means directly adjacent I think, but it stacks for multiple mountains. Like 3 mountains will make it +4, +1 for civil service too

For Zone of Control to take place, the unit needs to start at a tile adjacent to your city/unit, then move to one of the two tiles that are also adjacent to your city/unit. The hand axe moved two tiles. The first was from his own tile to being adjacent to your city. The second move was in your zone of control, but it was already the second move so it didn't matter. That is how that worked.

The Incan terrace farm works like this: +1 food base +1 additional food for each mountain adjacent to the improvement For example, if you put a a terrace farm on a hill next to 2 mountains, the tile yield for that farm will be 3 food 2 production. Keep this in mind when you settle new cities, because you missed a 4 mountain hill when you settled Tiwanaku.

Awesome choice for your second city, but I would settle the third city by the truffle site since with the Incas you want cities near mountains if possible. The site up by the bananas/jungle will have great growth potential, but almost no production. Nothing better than cities with great growth and great production (terrace farms).

Quill as a strategy you should try using Autocracy, if you look at Tenets like United Front and Cult of Personality you can use war constructively, and it leads to you looking more at the relations between the other civilizations and creates interesting gameplay, for example you start looking for Civ's to denounce so that other civs will like you and then inviting them to join you in war.

One thing I don't get is why you leave covered tiles kind of near your capital or initial settling range when exploring. There could be a resource where you may put your 3rd city near france but you don't know for sure since a tile is covered. Maybe it's my explorer OCD... Plus, your one and only explorer is way the hell up north where you'll never settle instead of exploring the areas around you. You *think* there's a good spot to settle east of your 2nd city but most of that area is dark. You also have no clue if there's an AI nearby over there (probably not since they didn't settle in sight yet). It's not that likely you'll find huts up there with at least 2 AIs in that area so wouldn't it be better to be exploring areas you may settle and finding AIs closer to you? Lastly, I know early building is critical but it seems like building ONE warrior early would've been good. Repairing burned improvements and disrupting your worker regularly due to barbs is inefficient, seemingly moreso than 4-5 turns of building a warrior. You would've also been able to use it to escort your settler rather than having the settler wasting turns sitting in your city. You got luck that no barbs were in your settler's path with its near dead escort (to lose the escort) and that no barbs went for your capital while your one and only defender was out. I didn't notice your cash situation but with the early city state visits, nice income flow, and popping that barb village, you probably could've bought a warrior for gold about when your settler finished, which would've been a decent option. I don't play on the higher diffs (don't care for the jack up the AI's resources to simulate difficulty style) and I'm surely only mediocre at civ, but I do usually play with raging barbs so maybe I'm just more used to needing units early. :P I think the terrace farms are better than regular farms on hills (1 food above norm), and with the mountain bonus it's even more food.
@DerAva
@DerAva 10 жыл бұрын
So, you moved your initial warrior before settling the city. I think I shed a little tear of joy for that move, and no matter what else you do in this series, what "mistakes" or potential "misplays" you might make, I will not care. You moved your warrior first! Words can't express the amount of happiness I feel right now *sniff* *sigh*

EDIT: Also, had you settled one tile lower on the coast, you would have gotten the sheep, deer, dye, stone, stone, and marble all in your capital's 3-tile radius. DOUBLE EDIT: If you raze Brussels and settle one tile north, you get an extra fish.

@xxxxxrandom
@xxxxxrandom 10 жыл бұрын
City first processed food production and if enough food: increases city population. If city is on production focus that new pop will be assigned immediately to a hammer tile and when city next processes hammer production the new pop is already contributing to hammers on the same turn. If on food focus it would get assigned to a food tile but that turns food generation has already been processed so it would be "lost".
