Recently bought civ 5 and watched your england, rome, and egypt Earth/True Start series. Really enjoyable but a bit disappointing that you didn't finish any of them. Look forward to binging your other series though.

Even though I understand, it's kind of annoying, this series and the True Start Rome series just died randomly. I actually really like watching late gave civ V, and I want to see how Quill would go about doing that.

Yes, great people with a name have their respective great work reserved. But saving them up does not make sense, since great works don't get better. What you actually need to do is getting some mods which add more great people/works.

I think the main reason why the Great Writer doesn't have the button is because there is no Great Works of Writing left in the game, what with 22 civs and all.

Is there any advantage to annexing a city outright over annexing the puppet after resistance wears off? Not trying to be a jerk, just genuinely interested. Usually I just wait the requisite period of time until resistance ends and then annex that puppet - softens the happiness hit.

I know there is a bonus in Order that promotes annexing immediately, halving the production cost I believe. But I think he does it so he won't forget to build a courthouse

It's pretty out there if you follow RTS channels. But it's kinda buggy at the moment and the AI is afraid of water.

I'm kinda developing a love/hate relationship with your Civ V videos. Love watching them, but I'm sitting here despairing at some of your deliberations and decisions... Why did you annex that city? Why!?

because he can. He normally puppets with the occasional razing but his happiness has been golden all game without many happiness builds

True, but he also wants Oxford, and annexing this city sets him way back on that.

About the writer can it be that no great work of writing is left. Also not that the artists have a name but the writer is just called great writer

As I'm sure someone said, there are a limited amount of 'names' for great people, after which the game will just generate generic great persons. This has no impact on any of them, except for the artist types; the name is tied to the work produced, so without a name, they have no great work to make. With 22 civs, all the great works get eaten up fast. Also, I think one of the nations missing is Indonesia, as your cities want Nutmeg, which I think requires them to be in the game?

Consider colonizing Australia. (Yeah, like you have pretty much cities to maintain) I think there`s Japan in the game and the Inca.

I don't think he can win unless he goes full domination due to the fact that Brazil and Monty will probably run away with tourism and culture. He can't afford to waste his time settling his own cities.

Quill, the Great Writer didn't have the button for creating a great work because he was neither in nor adjacent to a city

I think it's because all the Great writing works of art are in the game have literally been taken so now he just gets generic writers

that may be the case too, all I know is that when my great artists are not next to a city that button goes away

There is a limit per era I think? Maybe all the ones for that era was taken.

22:10 omfg these stares and gestures are fucking cringy and I don't know why I still watch this guy. Plus lots of terrible decisions in the gameplay. But still these series of videos are entertaining somehow.
