Am I the only one who gets choked up a bit? The idea of human progress is genuinely a thing of fascination for me. To see it put this way just rams home how much we have changed and still can.

Human progress is a beautiful thing, for how far we have come. Its just a shame politics and dividing of differences has slowed us down. an ideology of all being a nation of earth together would be a utopia in the making... one day

@@JackCabbit20 I don't think that's ever possible unless we get invaded by aliens

@@JamezOwnU101 Like the ancient Chinese and Greeks it would need an external invader for all of us to unite and combat the threat, which reminded me of Pacific Rim in a way.

This game, along side CIV IV & V were my earliest memories of interest in history. Now as a young adult I work at a museum, learning about history and getting paid to do it. Sid Meier influenced untold numbers of people, and continues to impact us to this day. For Civ Revolutions, I remember sitting on my grandmas couch watching this intro, probably hundreds of times, then messing around for hours in the game, scratching that unknown itch for history!

The first time I witnessed the Julius Caesar scene, I was hooked. I was 7 then and had just got the game for Christmas. Ever since then, I’ve had a great passion for history and strategical combat. I’m so glad.. If I didn’t get this game by pure chance all those years ago, it’s plausible I would never been interested.

I will admit I liked this intro a lot more than the new console version. The new one is good but this was the best one. I like the idea it was a caveman that planned out our entire future hahaha.

I love this game so much. It is really sad they don't make a civilization for console again.

Call me evil or crazy, but I found the NDS Port more appealing to look at. Something about 16 or 32 Bit Civilization Games really feels like something.

I grew up with the DS version and despite not seeing this epic cinematic. The music is nostalgic, picking your first leader and learning how to play was exciting, despite being the most simplest CIV game out there, it gave hours of fun. Discovering monuments felt more rewarding like units way ahead of your progress, from just fighting wars with warriors and hoplites to being aided by knight templars, or having found the lost city of Atlantis and great people. I'd laugh how I got philosophers like Lao Tzu in Edo Japan. Or how I learned some of my allies were plotting against me from rumors or how some CIVs have secret hatred when gossiping of other CIV's, Though the unorthodox mechanics which I don't find from other CIV games like a well fortified city can even drive your units from being destroyed, or how when you're almost winning every CIV turns and declares war on you. Though it didn't stop me from enjoying the game.

This is what got me into Sid Meier games. I still say this is the best one. Playing 6 like everyone else. Modded or dlc'd.. Never played Revolution in that fashion tho. Game didn't need it imo.
