Pachacuti (c.1410 - 1471 AD) was the ninth ruler of the Kingdom of Cusco, who during his reign expanded the tiny kingdom into an expansive empire - Tawantinsuyu. Pachacuti's Incan Empire stretched from modern-day Chile to Ecuador, including most of Peru, Bolivia, and northern Argentina, and laid the foundation for an even larger Incan Empire to come.

@@mazdoctorxd Of course! Well, long story short, they have a white guy portray someone that he isn't. He is not of the Mongoloid race. As a person of Mongoloid descent, I see that he just looks odd to the point where he is making fun of us. He did not depict us correctly. To me, he does not have the correct race to portray our culture, so that is quite disrespectful to my people and considered cultural appropriation. To sum it up, cultural appropriation means that you are not from that race or ethnic group, but you portray them in ways that are disrespectful and make fun of them.

Did you guys know that he had something like 3000+ concubines? Plus the taboo on sleeping with temple virgins did not apply on the Inca (Inca being actually the title of the ruler - as in Pachacuti Inca - not the name of the people. Those were called (and still are today) Quechuans.

Finwaell Something I’d like to adjust to your statement. The title of the ruler is “Sapa Inca,” meaning “Mighty Inca.” The people themselves are called the Inca. We who speak Quechua TODAY are indeed called “Quechuans,” but that is only because the Inca empire does not exist anymore. My family has Inca blood in our veins, especially on my mother’s side, her mother coming from Cuzco. I do not know where you got your information from, but it is very incorrect.

Nicholas Subocz i thought the inca were only the nobility of the Inca empire originating from Cusco, similar to a clan. As far as i know the „Huanca“ or „Wanka“ (e.g.), from today’‘s central Peru, were also part of the Quechua culture group but distinct from the Inca during the Incan rule over the andes, since they were another ‚clan‘.

@@splashmok He is right, the Inca was solely a title just like Kaiser is a title. At most the plural form "Incas" was used to denominate solely the Nobility also known as the Orejones by the Spanish. The language known today as Quechua was in fact denominated as Runasimi and the people were referred to as Quechuas which is an ethnic term.

Most of those innovations came from outside influences. The Amerindian people arrived to their continent later and were therefore hindered in technological advancement. Meanwhile, the Europeans were able to "steal" technologies from the various Caliphates and Chinese innovators. Plus, it was mainly disease- something Europeans would be immune(Bubonic Plague aside) to because of their early adoption of living in crowded areas-that would kill of most of the natives.

Actually no, mostly it was just germs, diseases introduced by Europeans spread much faster than the explorers did. Plus, there was a civil war that had started in the empire a few years before that left their army stretched thin. PLUS, since they never had mounted soldiers they had no idea how to deal with the Spanish cavalry.
