So , people are very confused about Genghis being Loyal and nice to his friends. If you study his biography you will understand that he never forgot those who helped him , and let them hold higher positions throughout their lifetime, also he never forgave those who betrayed him. They say he killed millions. Yes he did. But on the other hand he grew in a times where everything was against him except those who was loyal to him. The Khan has been betrayed numorous time in his life time and it almost costed him his life if it wasn't for the few who helped him. The mongols at the time had same story. Turkish tribes from the west trying to dominate them. Settlers from the south tried to hold them down, crucifying their khans. With his loyal friends he was able to unite mongolia , and with them he was able to conquer their enemies.That is why he is loyal to his friends , hateful to his enemies. I think civilization team did great job on the personalities.Really good job on the Khan. Don't know about Gandhi tho ;D.

I did not knew Mongolia was in the game and it took me by surprise that I saw the great Khan. I could not believe it and listened to the entire theme only to comprehend what just happened. "Something less than an enlightened king, and yet something far more than a simple barbarian" Genghis Khan was very complex man with a fascinating life story. He was also perhaps the most forward thinking and perceptive ruler of the middle ages, pre-empting global economics and encouraging local cultures to flourish distinct from the conquerors. Most of Asia lived under his banner, and free trade and exchange flourished. Not just of goods, but also of ideas. That was perhaps his greatest legacy, which outlived his empire.

Ohh you will if you play your cards right. Just join him in pulverizing everyone else and only then betray eachother and duke it out like men. This guy is quite loyal if you are and a great war buddy.

This song suits him really well.. Bitter era with bloody enemies everywhere. While he's definitely a warlord who left destruction wherever their horde passed by, what they have accomplished one thing like no other civilizations ever did, "unification".

I love the subtle Chinese influence in the song. Really helps capture the fact that Genghis himself was a huge Sinophile who often sought out Chinese Confucian and Daoist scholars.

For someone who conquered 20 percent of earth’s land and besieged large cities like Baghdad, Genghis is actually a pretty nice ally in civ 5.When I played as Japan on Emperor difficulty, we had a near game long friendship before he destroyed me when I decide to invade Poland

The first time I played as the Iroquois, I had the Shoshone to my east and the Mongols to my west. They attacked me at the same time. I was able to beat them both off, conquer the Shoshone, and liberate two city-states to act as buffers between me and Mongolia. Ghengis Khan then asked for peace, and stayed my friend for the rest of the playthrough. It was awesome.

why do the biggest warmongers have some of the saddest peace tunes in the game?
@luanandreas10 жыл бұрын
Because they are sad when they are not killing your units,razing your cities,pillaging your improvements,enslaving your workers,and stuff like that..

This tune gives me a mental image of a menu theme, the protagonist just sitting in the wake of a setting sun of red crimson as bodies and crows flock around it...and it instills in me nothing more than sadness.
