This is the kind of content I’m looking for. I’ve own Civ 6 for a while but I’ve never completed a game. I always hit the point where I get lost and don’t know what direction to head next. Then I end up starting over.

Yours has been the most interesting beginners guide I have spent this whole week watching hour-long videos while at work and even though now I get the gist of what I'm looking at like I understand the information I am looking at I still don't have a good idea on how I should be progressing. I have decided that I like the idea of a science victory more than the other ones, And I end up just grabbing every single science every single thing I can purchase what culture and I have a feeling that I don't need all of it that some of it can be skipped I don't feel like I'm playing efficiently I guess is what I'm trying to say. Best part is that science gives me a clear direction I just need to meet three criteria and I win but there is still a clock and I just want to make sure that I'm playing efficiently to achieve that victory before anybody else can achieve their conditions. I have already started my game over four times because every time I feel a little bit more confident that I can do better I just start over.

Civ is all about balance. With practice and experimentation, you'll start to learn that you don't need a campus is every city. For example, in the Civics tree, you will find policy cards that increase your science output tremendously. Production is also important because you can build key wonders to boost your science like the Great Library, Oxford University, and Amundsen-Scott Research Station. Having a large population is important because each citizen in your empire passively generate science per turn. Prioritizing Great Scientists like Hypatia, Isaac Newton, and Albert Einstein. It's a lot to take in, but you'll start to notice the little things like this the more you play and the more you experience different strategies. Good luck out there! :)

@@TheCivShow thank you and yeah that's the part I was trying to get down cuz I swear I was building every science option you could think of as soon as it was available and I'm like that doesn't seem right.

You should make one for competitive online.. this will only make you way behind. I go scout settler then builder then settler then campus then settler, that way you get most of your boosts early on, and first one to lay down a city has the advantage usually

I would try to settle on fresh water or at least coastal. This will not give you housing problems in the beginning of your cities
