Thank you so much for posting this. It's very sad that he's no longer with us to brighten our minds and make us think anymore. He was a brilliant man who I admire greatly.

A true Renaissance Man ! Thanks for sharing this perceptive & thoughtful interview ! I did read Mr Allen's book "Beloved Son" many years ago. Found it at a used bookstore. Completely engrossing book. :-)

Andrew Jackson's Taint - He did not use the word “figure.” When you use quotation marks, you have an obligation to try to gat the quote exactly right. He did use the word “hero,” but I think he, himself, put it in quotes, suggesting that the interpretation was somewhat in question. Here is the actual quote: “... some Ché Guevara hero here who was trying to help the people, rightly or wrongly.” He didn’t elaborate, so we don’t know exactly what he thought about Guevara. It’s possible he didn’t know what a nasty fellow Guevara was. A lot of people don’t.

I was wondering the same thing. Steve is very vague here. Che Guevara was also a terrible man and nuts. Whenever you enjoy watching firing squads from your office window, you’re no different than Papa Doc, and very nuts. But yes, I too wondered what the hell Steve was talking about, being the smart man he was.

@@GH-oi2jf. It is odd that a well read man who prides himself on skepticism accepted the myth of Che so casually.

The rape victim abortion is incredibly rare. Regardless, the baby conceived of rape is no less a life than if it came from consenting sex. We can give her a fast track to adoption if she doesn't want to parent.
