Thanks for showing us this hidden gem. I've never heard of it- but its somewhere I now want to see. Will have to make a trip out of it next time in Rome. I love that its perched up on a cliff and that no cars are allowed. How interesting and unique.

In the early 2000's I visited with friends who spent a year in Italy, and 6 months in Panicale. Cool tiny hilltop castle near Umbria. So cool. They rented a cool home inside the castle walls. No hotels, restaurants but a couple of stores that sold produce, meat, and a bakery. There was a beautiful church/chapel. It was fun as they had a car and we went to nearby college town for fun.

Yes, it is a small hidden gem and what I love about it is since cars cannot get up to the civita- it is essentially frozen in time with little labyrinth-like streets. Thanks for watching and please subscribe i you haven't already for tours of historical places around the world.
