My dad had Wolfenstein 3D and the official hint book that had the maps in them, with commentary from Id Software employees themselves. Tom Hall said that Episode 6 Map 1 was basically designed to stop John Romero from being so good at the game. Supposedly Romero beat the entire first episode in around 5 minutes and at the time was the world record. I think it was beaten, but it's nice to know that whole levels were designed to knock your own co-workers down a peg.

Tbh canned dog food reminds me a lot of dintymore beef stew in a can which is pretty good for canned food. Never tried eating dog food, but it definitely smells better than cat food. The thing about how Wolfenstein is great for portable gaming is so true, I first experienced the game through DOSBox on the tablet I had as a kid. It feels like it was designed almost like an early age iPhone mobile game, back before the market was polluted with ads and scummy pay to win shit. Super simple mechanics and tons of levels to slowly chip away at over years of killing time on the school bus or in waiting rooms. Still love it to this day.
