Well they are grown men so a curfew is a little surprising. However to excuse this away is ridiculous. Let alone drinking during games, before, after, etc......... Come on you make way too much money to be treating the game like a Sunday beer league softball game.

Showing up on time and being ready to play can be two different things. That kind of lifestyle can catch up to a player over the course of the long season. Nats were smart to shut it down before it becomes a way of for the young star...

@benjames4502Ай бұрын
So punish a person for doing something legal and has no direct impact on the team?
@jefflewis4Ай бұрын
Trying to stop it before it gets worse by embarrassing the player never works. All it does it make the player angry, resentful, and determined to leave the organization the first chance they get. Was he late to the game ? Was he unprepared to play ? It does not appear so. Unless there more to this, this is excessive punishment for staying out all night.
@walterehmann8799Ай бұрын
@@benjames4502I mean, he was 0-3 with a K the game after his all-nighter. Also, they were on a 4 game losing streak which became a 5-gamer after this game. Who do you know that stays out to the casino until 8AM when they have to be at work at 1PM? Nobody because 1.) they’d be too embarrassed to tell you and 2.)not many people do that to begin with. I don’t think it’s out of bounds for the Nats to think they were hopefully getting ahead of an issue. They didn’t put him on blast, the pictures of him were already out on social media before they made their decision (Davey showed Abrams the pictures during their meeting).
