Thank you for buying this so we don't have to! I am in the same boat and was tempted to go down this same route :)

I bought the exact same lift a good 3 years or so ago and I've used it non stop. I find it great for the mini and metro I have. But I also use it for the MGF engine swaps as the full height when tilted is great and makes working on exhausts and things a breeze. I wish you the best of luck with another lift. I must say I broke the sheer bolts within the first few days on easy lifts so I had to stop using them. I also needed to change the drill and buy a proper DeWalt corded drill as you can't use an impact type which would damage the gearbox. But it is a great lift for great value. I've a wee garage also. So it's great to move it in and out when I need to. For the mini I actually use boards of wood under front end rear wheels sideways. So that the car is raised by an inch or 2. It allows me to slide it under and not need the jack stands or jack initially. But you do need stands under the car if you have it up off all 4 wheels. If you have it tilted on only 2 wheels then you can do without stands. I could not do lots of stuff I do without my wee lift. I would be interested to see what you use next based on similar size constraints as myself. Cheers t.

Considered this lift for my mini a few years ago but thought I’d have the exact issues you found. Ended up with a pair of 500kg motorcycle scissor lifts at $100 each. They work surprisingly well 😬

Bit of a bummer, no point in keeping tho if you’re not comfortable with it. The height it went was quite deceiving though.👍

It was deceiving, id measured and watched other vids but standing there in front of it was completely different

Interesting stuff, did you try/was there enough room to balance the mini properly and make it easy to tilt?

I could have moved it forward more and got it to balance better but moving it forward would mean the gearboxes fouling the front wheels and just making it fiddly with axle stands. Not having the drill i decided not too but if you take the time to do it ,it will balance. I guess the positioning and balance point is different for every car too so its trial and error

Great video! - as watching i did see it being quite a faff. be worth the extra pennies for the confidence factor alone. thanks for the honest review :D

Thanks, its all a learning experience. It would be fine for some just not suited for my needs
