I think it's important to point out that Uvo wasnt some random ass buff goon. We watched him no diff an entire city of mafiosas and solo a global elite force of nen users for like 5 episodes straight. He was throwing nukes with his fist, he was the strongest enhancer we had seen thus far in the series and he was the undisputed physical strongest of the troupe. They just stayed out of his way while he was fucking everyone up, and decided to play cards while they waited. Then Kurapika comes along and just 1v1s him with almost no difficulty. Shit was wild

The main advantage of conjuring objects is so you can put nen conditions and enchantments on them, as well as hide them with Zetsu, like Kurapika showed with his chains, if you're just conjuring regular objects to do things that you can just do with that real object then it's just a waste of nen and time.

The fact that he BROUGHT a shovel to a fight is disrespect… because it means he had so little faith that his opposition could beat him, that he not only knew he would defeat him, but that he would beat him so handedly that he could then bury him afterwards, no question.
