Nubian kids are the best. They are all legs and ears, and so derpy. We have a mixed herd of Nubians and Nigerians. One of our Nubians just had triplets at the end of June, so we are enjoying the cuddles.

I really enjoyed mini nubians. we have nubians, pygymies and boers now. but our first round of goats we had two mini nubians and absolutely loved them. we constantly worm our animals though. we live in a wet area and just started a consistent schedule for all the animals and they've all done super well the last year. that's the only way we've been able to keep our herd alive

Is there a parasite regimen Daisy could go on? With a lot of domesticated animals waiting for symptoms then reacting is harder on the animals. Love seeing pork chop! I laugh every time you say they are divorcing! One more question, when they grass inside the pens get so high, why dont you cut it down? These questions are not snarky comments. I am interested because we are now looking at land, and I am trying to learn the ropes. God Bless!
@cjfunnyfarm
@cjfunnyfarm 3 жыл бұрын
We have system we use for parasite management for all our goats. Some goats are just less resistant to parasites so you are constantly fighting them! We let the grass grow up because it helps with parasites. Animals poop on the ground and the high grass helps them eat above the poop which is where all the parasites come from!

Have you tried copper bolus for your goats? I keep Lamanchas, Saanens , Nigerians and live in Florida, so we battle worms all year long (never gets below 40 here). You should check to see if your area is low in copper if it is you can give them the copper. I give it to all my goats 2 times a year once in March and in September. It helps them fight off the worms, and it also improves there health over all. You can tell your goat is low in copper when the darker goats have faded areas in there coats. We show our goats so are around all the breeds of goats and Nubians are know as drama queens that's why we went with the Lamanchas.

Yes we copper bolus at minimum once a year and evaluate everyone every 4 months and bolus as necessary! Definitely has helped us for sure!

Noise and the vet said that the youngsters got snake bit b/c they were Nubian. Had 2 Nubian does that chose to kid out in the rain and I had to find huge muck boots just to get out there. One kid was slipped through the fence. We took them in b/c we had to bottle feed them since mom didn't come when she didn't have the injection for CAE. Had Alpines, Saanens, Nubians and Nigerians. Thr Nigerians would not let us milk them but the one I really liked had tons of milk in her huge banana udders. Kids would not let the kids nurse. 😒
