Nice! I really like your intrigue deck and the choice to play certain combat cards and fewer ways to blow up the wall. Did u make a breakdown of how many combat/endgame/carddraw/fraction bumps there where in before in uprising (or base ect.)? These numbers would be interesting. I feel like there could maybe some more carddrawing intrigues, i find myself somtimes in a spot where i specifically fish for one of those:)

@@subtol Yeah I did miss those too. The new options are not terrible either, but I do prefer the free ones. The trade-off was that I wanted the intrigue deck to be a very tight 52 cards, and so while I was debating which cards are essential to include and which ones I wanted to find space for, I came to the conclusion that the "choose a bump" cards (specifically the discard fremen option) was better for what I wanted (enabling unload). Additionally, I don't think the costs are very high for them (they're almost free!). Yes, I made some notes about how many combat/plot/endgames/faction bumps existed in the base game vs my set. I actually scrawled it down on a paper that I can't seem to find, so I can recreate that in the follow-up video and talk about it. IIRC I wanted about 10-12% of the cards to be "bump related" and I wanted to increase the number of combat cards slightly, (I think I ended at about 38% of cards being combat in the end, but then again there are the split plot/combat cards, which are more flexible and are often used as plots, so the real number is probably closer to 30%). Obviously, this is fuzzy because we can't tell how these will msot often be used at a glance. In my experience the "Contingency Plans" get used for solari more than half of the time and backed by choam is used for its top half (plot) more often than it's used for its swords. Anyway, as I mentioned, I can explain all this in the next video. :)

Great video and can't wait to try your version at my table. I really like how you got rid of a lot of unnecessary doubles from both games. Makes the deck feel so much more unique and games of Dune way more variable. Could you also please post the cards you didn't include and explain your reasoning? Much appreciated

Great video, very stoked to try this out. As someone who likes to play at the table and has none of the promo cards, would you just leave them out or replace them with other cards?

Thank you for sharing! Do you think Helena still belongs in the game with spies? I remember Paul saying that she breaks spy mechanic in a way so he excluded her from his mix and I agree with that decision.

I think it's reasonable to exclude her if you want. I don't think she breaks the spy mechanism, she just ignores it. She does get a nice bonus of being able to turn any green and blue space you're spying on into a draw 1, so that's kind of a nice upgrade for her (she's fairly underpowered in Ix/Immo).

Yes, IMO the lack of mentat, as well as the decreased value of rushing for swordmaster, both make Ecaz harder to use well than in his ancestral environment.

The baseline cost for trashing is a water in uprising.

There’s more card draw and rewards on battles to trash cards in uprising and I have to imagine an experienced player with Ecaz could floop their entire deck every turn by the mid game. The constant battle with your deck and the symbols is one of the things that makes the game compelling to me so I can see why ecaz was removed.
