Its sad that google can slap a thermometer in pixel 8 pro, which nobody wanted or asked for, but they can not acomodate a SD card slot. These companies stripping away popular features like headphone jack or sd card slot, makes me look toward sony xperia 1 v. If sony promised 5years of software n security, i would buy it at any price at all. Please compare google pixel 8 pro, vs sony experia 1 v, vs samsung s23 ulta, in terms of user experience, UI, in hand feel, features, battery drain time, thermal management, and value for money. Ive been using the regular iphone 15 pro since release date, and just got the google pixel 2 days ago. After using only iphone for the past 5 years I can honestly say im in love with the pixel!! I really missed having that android freedom while not having my phone overloaded with useless apps like samsung do. So far I'm also enjoying the new AI advancements that really have come in handy .

A lot of people I know that have either an Android or iPhone never seem to fully experience every single aspect of their device. Sometimes I watch reviews then I see these people and think sometimes that all of these phones are overkill for most. Just like you said better have it and not need it but it has always been interesting for me. I love the Pixel 8 pro quality and in reality would fit my needs exactly even in the camera department to the point of being too much lol. Same with the iPhone but overall since Ive been in the Apple ecosystem for a couple of years it makes it a bit complicated to make a transition. Im upgrading from the 12pro to the 15pro max Love the video man!

The Google Pixel 8 pro had better dynamic range than iPhone The iPhone had more Boca for the portrait but the 5X camera on the Google Pixel 8 pro have more detail so I'm going to have to go with the Google on this one even though I bought the iPhone 15 pro first time buying an iPhone in years but I mainly bought it for the watch ultra

While I am not upgrading to either as I have the 14 Pro and P7P, here, I think overall it goes to the 15 PM but the P8P definitely had better camera shots. It is very close but I can see why someone would choose the P8P. Now we await the S24 Ultra release. Nice video CJ!

Pixel produces more contrast and deep colors to fit real world experiences. The iPhone will have a slightly sharper portrait as it captures more of the photo you are looking for. As said if pixel can transition from the heavy AI and into the log era it will give them more control to build an even better picture than the iPhone. The iPhone does have a better video quality overall. Less glitching more fluidity!

The video quality for the Iphone has always been excellent. I moved away from the Iphone to the 6P then Pixel and I have been happy except for the video quality. I now own the Pixel 8 Pro and I'm pleased with the video and I am looking forward to the December video updates. My Smart unlock makes Face ID unnecessary for me and I mostly use earbuds for sound but speakers sound fine.

Which one has better voice to text. Which one is smarter.. I also like the little things Google pixel does. I just flew and 24 hours before my flight Google reminded me of it. Not only did it remind me of it, it told me when to leave to arrive at the flight and what gate my flight was on. When I landed it told me what number carousel my bags were coming out. It's the smartness of this phone. The little things that it does. The voice to text is almost perfect. I use it every single day. The pixel makes my life easier. due to the small enhancements that you don't realize you need until you live without it.

@@ganbly Sure google apps exist on iphone, but the stuff the person you responded to mentioned isn't integrated into iOS even if you use a google app. The voice to text models are run locally on device and are significantly faster and more accurate than anything iOS has.

I think it's pretty obvious the HDR performance on the Pixel murdered the iPhone. Will LOG make up for that? I don't know. As a Pixel owner since version 1... I'm not going to the Pixel 8 Pro (currently have the Pixel 7 Pro) because Google is just too distracted with their services and ecosystem. The Apple ecosystem feels mature and refind by comparison. So I'm getting the iPhone 15 Pro (non-Max). I'll miss the camera and I'm curious to see how well Apple handles spam calls.

I assume the spam call stuff on the iphone is similar to other non pixel phones, which is just general spam filtering. The spam stuff on the pixel is a neat tech demo, but never having it (I use mostly samsung phones though I did have a few older google phones in the past), it's not a feature that would impact my phone purchase at all. It depends on your use case. I personally never answer calls I don't recognize (or aren't in my contacts) and just check voicemail trasnscription after (I use google voice).

There is never a “Which is better”, once you have invested into a eco system. It’s more like, should an apple user also get a Pixel. Android users can get any phone they want as they don’t have a tightly integrated eco system.

I'm not sure I agree. You're still invested in an ecosystem either way, even if it's not just paid apps you've purchased over the years. I'm locked into Google ecosystem for multiple reasons, the main reasons being that I use Google Voice as my primary number which isn't supported on iphone, and I also am big into game emulators which are also not supported on iOS. My fiance uses iphones and she's locked into it because of facetime that she uses with much of her family, along with the icloud and other apple services that it would be tough to move her away from. Not mentioning iMessage because I think that whole topic is ridiculous even though most articles seem to concentrate on that.

The Pixel 3XL had the frosted glass back. Google went away with it and brought it back again with the 8 Pro I just got my 8 Pro, and upgraded from a Pixel 6 Pro. Google is stepping up each interation of the Pixel.

Reason Ill probably go with the pixel is the software. Not only the features but the whole OS. I just finde the iOS software so ugly to look at and unpractical. Yeah as a young technical affine person Id probably adjust in just about a week and everything would be fine but I just like the Pixel design better. With Xiaomi or sth on the other side Id probably went with the iPhone. Maybe after some testing Ill switch to iPhone and return the pixel. But if the OS is anywhat like the iPad iOS in terms of Usage and practicability it sucks ass. Ive used an iPad pro max M2 for Uni for a long while now. And the only thing that it does better than my old Tablet is... Goodnotes which isnt even apples own software. The rest just sucks so bad. Thats also kinda what keeps me away from trying out an iPhone Also maybe itd would be better to wait and see if Apple get their stuff done and fix the iPhone problems. The one year I considered switching they had to suddenly get heat problems n stuff even tho that was never a big Problem 🙄

When Huawei first arrived with their AI camera in 2017 the word out there was gimmick. Here we are 7 years later and every tech reviewer is reading off the same hymn sheet with Tensor AI / Neural engine , all this sounds very familiar to me and very much like a Huawei's Kirin.SOC.

Just because Hauwei, a chinese company, released some fake advertising doesn't mean the thing doesn't exist (which, lets be honest, fake advertising is kinda huawei's motto). Computational photography is a real thing, as is AI. You can tell the difference if you were to use a Pixel or iPhone, then pick up another phone that uses the exact same camera system but takes vastly inferior photos. Also, CPU's are designed with different priorities. For instance, Intel makes a variation of their snapdragon CPU that is specifically designed to be used for VR. There's a reason that iphone started making their own CPU's (and later google followed), it's not because just they could make them cheaper or even better than Intel, it's because they could make the chip work better for their hardware.

Is was blown out due to no ND filter, I was using LOG and the auto-camera app vs a Pro camera app...I didn't want to be too unfair w/ the setup since I was using all auto camera apps on Pixel.

Its sad that google can slap a thermometer in pixel 8 pro, which nobody wanted or asked, but they can not acomodate a SD card slot. These companies stripping away popular features like headphone jack or sd card slot, makes me look toward sony xperia 1 v. If sony promised 5years of software n security, i would buy it at any price at all. Please compare google pixel 8 pro, vs sony experia 1 v, vs samsung s23 ulta, in terms of user experience, UI, in hand feel, features, battery drain time, thermal management, and value for money. I ll buy one of these 3. Waiting for response. Thanx
