It isn't all daisies as made the switch to 15pro after only using Android and while it is a flawless experience and has hands down the best camera in a phone (I'm a photog don't fight me) it leaves alot to be desired. You can't customize things the same way and it seems to limit the phone rather than push it to it's fullest capabilities of performance. Also it doesn't have all the nifty features pixel has like call screening. Also Siri is a literal tech nightmare.

I agree, video boost is out for the pixel 8 pro and I love it, been using it a lot for my night videos and the difference for me is huge. I also love best take since I have 2 kids it's hard to make them smile at camera at the same time, so usually take a few photos and then mix the best smiles :)

@@Libertymoondreams I think you have a wide range of choices. A lot will depend on your budget. You don’t have to go for a flagship as Apple, Google and Samsung have fantastic mid rangers where you can get all the above. If you have the budget then for me iPhone 15pro or Pixel 8 Pro.

(As a disclaimer, I own a Pixel 8 Pro and have access to an iPhone 15 Pro Max, so my comment is based off of my experience with both.) In around 20:20, you mentioned the following about the Pixel 8 Pro: "The experience on this phone just gets worse and worse. It becomes even more laggy and unresponsive with a noticeable hold-still overlay." From my understanding, you are making this statement with the understanding that you are enabling RAW mode on the Pixel, and not anything else. I want to point out that, when you JUST enable RAW mode, and otherwise keep the default resolution (which appears to be 12MP or 24MP for the iPhone, and 12MP for the Pixel; see 20:10 and 20:18, respectively), you shouldn't notice a significantly worse time taking pictures (the post-processing, i.e. the time taken to process the image AFTER the shot is taken, on the Pixel will probably take longer, but that shouldn't stop you from continuously taking pictures). However, in 20:19, on the Pixel, you also enabled full resolution (50MP mode). In 20:24, at the top-left, you can see the 50MP symbol, indicating that you enabled full resolution mode when you made the aforementioned statement about the Pixel being "worse and worse" as you are spamming the shutter button. You did *not*, however, show us taking full resolution pictures with the iPhone 15 Pro. This is where I think you're being disingenuous. When I take out my iPhone 15 Pro Max and enable full resolution (ProRAW Max), there's also a delay between taking pictures which can be seen when the shutter button is disabled for half a second or so -- it's actually roughly the same as the Pixel when both phones are held still (although the iPhone's post-processing time, i.e. the time taken to process the image AFTER the shot is taken, is significantly faster thanks to its chip). I can't imagine the iPhone 15 Pro being any different from the Max in that regard. The reason why I'm pointing this out is because, to me, it's a little disingenuous to say that the Pixel is is "more laggy and unresponsive with a noticeable hold-still overlay" when the iPhone does the same thing when everything is equal (i.e., when you enable RAW mode AND enable full resolution on both phones).

I agree! I should have mentioned this in the video but you can easily fill up 128GB in a few years. With photos and video files getting larger in size, it can also takes up cloud storage if you choose to backup the photos. I appreciate Google offering 2TB of storage for 6 months though after than it reverts to 15GB which isn't a lot. Nevertheless, it's still an improvement over Apple's standard 5GB service. It's just another avenue for companies to generate more revenue by selling cloud based storage.

There are quite a few software things that Android does better that weren't mentioned in this awesome video: - Copy feature in Android is so good - Split screen, so much productive in many cases - GBoard is just simply better - Google Assistant, Siri is no competition - Universal back gesture, and works on left and right side of screen - Clear All button in multitask window menu - One handed mode - Notifications: Status Bar. No need to swipe to see what kind of notifications you have - Notifications: Smarter features like smart replies, open shared links directly, like, etc - Notifications history, in case you dismiss some and want to check what it was - Control center for me works much better in Android and I think it's better for users that are not used to either. In iPhone you have to learn swiping down from the left side is notifications and from the right is Control Center. Pixel is one swipe down from anywhere in the screen and you access both. Apart from that, Control center in iPhone there are icons without labels, you don't know what those are fore unless you are used to them. In Pixel you clearely see them. You can configure them there in the same Control Centre, whereas in iOS you have to go to Settings and search for Control Center settings. And if the specific Control Center icon have more options, iOS doesn't hint you that, whereas Pixel shows you an arrow to indicate there are more options than just active/deactive - Volume control for different things like Media, Call, Ring, Alarm, and Notifications separately and to access it just need to push up/down volume button and tap in the 3 dots menu icon And for the hostpot, you can have the icon in the Control Center and it will be a swipe and tap away.

That was the most biased apple v android review I've ever watched. Ooh "iphones are better because they're smalller so they're more comfortable in my pocket". You mispressing buttons isn't a downside to the pixel 8 pro, it's a user error and I've always very quickly adapted to new phones with varying interfaces. My family are die hard iphone fans, but have been asking me how my photos look so good recently. Pixel 8 Pro camera is absolutely fantastic, the AI features are very well implemented and are so easy to use. I get home from a 9 hour day at work with 70% + battery, which is a lot more than any other phone I've owned.

I think you might have missed the whole point of the video. I’m not saying that iPhones are better. I was simply sharing my experience using both platforms side by side. Both iOS and Android have their own disadvantages and they can learn a thing or two from each other. At the end of the day, I was just impressed with the app optimizations, the speedy camera system and how fast it exports in LightRoom vs the Pixel. I’ve missed countless shots on the Pixel because of its shutter delay which was a frustrating experience. Look, if you’re patient enough of capturing static subjects, the Pixel is great! I love the image coming out the sensor. The detail is bananas but ultimately I preferred the iPhones stability.

Actually from what I watch too. You made sure to rub it in that iPhone does it better at every corner of your comparison. And neglected to talk about a lot of pixel features. This straight bias. Pro res cool for like .01% of the people that would actually use it. Being able to remove photo bombed is way more useful among other features that wasn't mentioned. .

As you said it's the small things on iphones that are good. But pixel has lots of those small things you never mentioned. For example when you drag your finger from the side to go back. It's like a bubble that separates at some point and it's just a super satisfying small thing which enhances the experience. There are just quite a lot of things you didn't mention. What about the audio magic eraser? You mentioned small things for the iphone but didn't really do so for the pixel. Tensor g3 is a chip made for the ai futures and it's supposed to be the "smart" phone not a power phone. So yea I agree. This isn't a fair comparison.

For the 12min mark. I remember when Android had separate Mobile and WiFi tabs in notification tray. The notification tray had smaller buttons so more info in the first swipe down. Since they changed that to what it is now, it feels like iOS picked up the slack in terms of notification tray options. Huge downside for one handed quick setting change for Android. I know Samsung skin tried to address this for a bit but I switched to Sony and don't know if it still does.

I’ve been testing the 15 PM, 14 PM and pixel 8 pro. Cellular data speed using the same sim , exact same place and same time, 14 PM significantly faster, followed by pixel and some way behind was the 15 pro max. Cameras, there were many occasions when the 14 took better photos than the 15, however, in terms of clarity, the pixel beat them both 99% of the time. I’m returning the 15 PM, it is absolutely not worth the upgrade from the 14 PM. If my family were to all iPhone users I would go pixel

If it's in my front pocket (depending on the pants I have on), I have to push the top towards the side of my leg to avoid it digging into my hip when I sit down. The thing with the iPhone battery life in the first week being bad is because of the background processing that happens as it indexes files and other bullshit when you transfer data to it from an older phone. Also why it runs warm more often. After the first week or so it settles down, the battery life improves and the phone runs much cooler. I don't know why Apple choses to do things this way as it just makes a bad first impression but if you are worried about the battery life and heating of your new iPhone then don't worry as it will get better in a few days. Also true for the Macs.

Your explanation doesn't answer the question. The options are there giving users more control over the camera, yet you fail to include it in your review. That's a pretty big thing to forget unless you didn't want to bring it up and give marks to google, which seems obvious from the beginning anyways.

As a photographer the iPhone hands down has a better camera regardless of pixel count and software features. It is like comparing a Sony a series to Fuji X yes you will get more features from a Sony ie full frame and higher range of iso but the photos will never be as good as the Fuji's

The Tensor G3 is so far behind the competition its actually ridiculous that Google charges $1000 for the Pixel 8 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro Max might be $200 more but at least you are getting a top of the line SOC with a much better modem and NVME based storage.

Im a big Android fan, but so much of what makes for a good smartphone experience is familiarity. Anyone in my family that has to use an Android phone for something gets confused about how to do things and vice versa. Theyre both solid options, but if you're in the Apple world, or are used to one platform or another, the choice is kind of made for you.

I found it very natural to switch to android and I tried switching back around the iPhone 11 era and I was so baffled by how many more steps things took to achieve. It feels like macOS overcomplicated for the design as a priority. Overcomplicated for no apparent reason. To be clear windows is just as bad but that's irrelevant to the topic.

Android is simple. You isheep makes Android looks like someone gave you controls of airplane 🤦. First you need to understand that all Androids are jot vanilla Androids. There are many Android and each manufacturers have their own skin on top of Android so you will see some feature difference and different in their UI but that doesn't mean they are hard...

Great video, balanced and great insight what both do well and not so well. I rarely customize the UI so I don't care about that feature but I know people who love to customize their UI etc but I agree Pixel / Google Android does really well. I also agree about including high speed cables with both phones considering the prices both manufacturers charge for their phones.

I picked the iPhone simply because it gave me a better user experience. The camera app was snappy, the performance when I edit my photos was much faster than the pixel and it shoots better video as well. It’s not perfect, I talk about all of its shortcomings in the video if you just skipped to the conclusion. I love the Pixel. I’ve been riding the Pixel train since the Pixel 2 because of its camera quality but Tensor G3 on the 8Pro still has a long way to go in terms of optimizations.

iOS and iPadOS are both painful for downloading anything at all. They really want you to do everything in a preview or the web browser. To save anything to the device you have to “share” then choose “share to files app” which feels really clunky. Apple actually provides a ton of storage capacity in their devices but then make it difficult to actually save files to the devices. I don’t understand why Apple assumes its users can’t handle a normal file browser yet the users can apparently handle grading Log video saved to an external drive…

Why would you unify BT, WiFi and everything when you have to click the unified icon and then click on whatever function you want to access, instead of just clicking it right away. This is your preference, not the flaw of the phone - actually that can also be said for the rest of the video. You just prefer Apple design language, it's not objectively superior and could go either way depending on the person. Quoting Safari of all app as an advantage already prove that, like even most Apple users don't use it

I always used the “max” iPhones in the past until the 14 pro max was killing my little finger with the weight of it resting on it whilst using. Tried the 14 pro (smaller) and found the screen looked to small. Tried the 15 pro and it’s honestly amazing how the thinner bezels make the screen seem so much bigger. Very happy and my little finger is still attached 😂

I've not enjoyed watching any type of 16:9 content on my iphone 14 pro at all simply because of how much it takes up from the already small screen. I love what they were forced to do kicking and screaming too with USB C. Every time Apple sells out on their principles and goes against their ethos it's great! The iPhone 15 series is the iPhone 1 in my book. Now we're just waiting on Google, Apple, and Samsung to stop using ultra low end camera hardware. 1" sensors with full 50MP resolution should be standard. After that we just need to rip the "pro" moniker from all of them unless they make them fat with massive batteries. A Pro device shouldn't be a fondle fun toy for average consumer fetish-aestheticysts who want thinness over battery life and performance.

You forgot to mention one fundamental thing about Android, and something that has made me unable to switch back to iOS: Universal back gesture. It works so well on Android, and definetely makes one handed use way more comfortable. My last iphone was a 6, and Apple still hasn't updated their back button design. Its also inconsistent, as different apps will have the back button at different positions. As the back button is one of my most used interactions, it really counts in my decision for which phone to buy. Apple does have a swipe back button, but its from the left side and inconsistent in my experience. I feel like that really deserves to be mentioned. Other than that, both amazing phones. Can't go wrong with either of em. I'm on a pixel 8 now and contemplating on trying a 15 pro for the video quality, but i'm struggling to accept the lack of a good back button :')

Snappy and photo that looks great. Is a killer. Best marketing is the photo quality because it is something you post everywhere. This is why Iphone is super attractive to people who uses alot of social media. Also I notice that front camera in social media apps sucks on Android. Feels sluggish and blurry kinda like its on long exposure (slow shutter speed) but for Iphone it looks as expected and smooth as well.

Ive used pixel 8 pro for a week now, hardware wise, theres no way it can beat the iphone. tensor g3 is a bs, the on sceen fingerprint scanner is like the 1st gen tech, slow and hit or miss, even running through the os and apps sometimes feels slower than my previous phone, Samsung Galaxy S20. which is wild to me, considering just like apple, google makes their own hardware now (at least closely integrated), should've been better optimized, but nope. seriously thinking of returning the damn thing.

The underlying issue is that Google loves to pack the Pixels with AI features. I love the Pixel for so many things like Now Playing, Powerful voice recorder app, Google Assistant. These are featuring that are super useful but if they could just optimize the rest of the experience perhaps by switching from G3 to Snapdragon? Idk…maybe that could change things 🤔
