Not even a fan, at all, of front flippers, but this (and especially the FIF23) is so stunning they are on my Bucket List, and I have bookmarked their pages for whenever the day may come when I can get it. I don't know when that will be, but I never want to forget this beauty since I look at so many knives every week, so it is in my folders for the future.

I really like the FIF 20. It appeals to me very much as i love front flippers and would love to own one. I own the CKF Makosha and it is just an amazing folder with the best action in my collection and it's not even my most expensive knife! They really do great work and I think every knife guy should own one of their models at some point. Thanks for the video!

Really awesome that they made this knife.. I held off buying the Fif23 because I knew this was coming. I got early access to one it should be here in a couple days. Very excited. I think this size is going to be more my style... great video frank.🤜🤛

Doctor Frunkey hah me too! Mike reached out after my video on the evolution... I know these will be sold out instantly..I wanted to make sure I get one ... you’re totally right.. it’s gonna be tough to beat this knife in the production realm. The neon zero held the title for me last year all year.. I think it’s gonna be the same for this one.

A nice looking knife for sure. Basically unobtainable to me though. Even if I could find one they're a bit out of my price range. Thanks for sharing.

It's an absolutely beautiful knife just like his customs & have to agree that the satin/matte carbon fiber scales are the way to go. The only issue I would have is lack of attention paid to the voids in the carbon fiber. When working with low void c/f you can take some fresh, non contaminated c/f grinding dust mixed in with superglue to fill in the voids & then go forward with your final finish work. Doesn't take much time to do, makes it just that little bit better & gives people less to bitch about.👍😁

Great Review Frank! Definitely going to be trying to get in on this drop. Been loving the French makers you have been sharing with us all lately. Just wish David Lespect and Remi Lavialle’s books were open right now. This should hold me over until I can pick up one of their customs. What new makers have you been looking to work with lately?
@DoctorFrunkey4 жыл бұрын
I have a few knives in process with some of the makers I have worked with before. Admittedly, I have a Lavialle, a Bull, and a Foscher/Carter on the way...
@chandlercranford52924 жыл бұрын
Doctor Frunkey can’t wait to see the builds you create with these makers. Especially the Fischer/Carter, you just know it’s going to be something special. Didn’t realize til recently you were local to me. Have a good one Frank!

at 400 pieces ever produced, can this even be considered a production knife? :philosoraptor: i mean seriously... i'd be almost willing to bet the Bulls produce more knives in a year than that c'mon CKF... if there was one knife, ONE, that deserved an actual, full production run (and that would also bring the cost down!), it's THIS ONE. this looks so good, it's a crime to be producing it in only 400 pieces. i mean, a full production run at 450ish USD would probably be folding knife perfection, ousting the Sebenza by quite a margin
@barrylinkiewich96884 жыл бұрын
If they went full production I'd have to buy another. Granted, that's an expense I'd justify somehow, I'm just sayin...
@barrylinkiewich96884 жыл бұрын
I started laughing out loud when you mentioned how fidgety the knife is, I find myself flicking it constantly while watching Tubes. I didn't think I was a knife fidgeter; I had a Smock and I just didn't mess with it and eventually sold off but this thing, I can't put down.

$450. is about the max I have or would pay for any blade. It’s pretty but not that pretty.

To each his own. Considering the custom goes for 1200+ table price and closer to 2k secondary, $580 seems ok.

This knife would look great in my collection, but honestly I'd never carry it. I think the whole front flipper thing is silly and a fad that will hopefully pass soon. Still it's a gorgeous knife, and I love my other CKF.
@mikewithers4724 жыл бұрын
Tom P see, I respect you opinion completely and think it is a very valid point but I actually believe the exact opposite. In my view point front flippers are way more versatile and mature. It can be opened many many different ways, it can be rolled open slowly to look like it was opened nice and slow to not scare bystanders, it doesn’t really add more space required in the pocket, and over it just looks better than a flipper knife. One could argue a thumbstud or hole is the most mature and reasonable way of opening a knife however I hope flippers are a fad because they add the ugly flipper tab both when open and closed, can only be really flipped one quickly if it has a good action and isn’t quite as versatile. That’s just my opinion though and like I said I truly respect yours. If you haven’t truly carried a front flipper for A while and gotten to learn all they can do I dare you to try it. I’m all ears to hear your side of it though. Sorry for the king message full of BS lol enjoy your day

All you do are Overly high end knives now huh?
@mikewithers4724 жыл бұрын
samdungan03 I would say this knife is in the middle ground. It’s touching high end but reasonable for what you get. The return per dollar spent is for sure much much much less after about $500-$600
