I had a different experience with the 100 and 99. I am using 100zz and you are right as when you are late to the shot, this racket makes you feel like you do not deserve it, but otherwise, it is a godsent especially when you are fit. I am built quite slim and I have never been considered physically strong (but I am more aggressive than others) so I passed the 99 when I was looking for a new racket. Plus the fact that i am not an experienced player. However, one day I got my hand on the 99and oh boi, that was outrageously satisfying. It felt like it belonged to me. It gave my smash what I would describe as a destructive and solid boost. Every position I would try even harder to smash and it nudged my confidence even more as those *bad chosen shots* came out so well, unexpected and with decent power. I am by no mean talented or good but I guess playing style and preferences play a huge role when experiencing such a demanding racket... Keeping my eyes on the 99 pro now. I could not stop thinking about it lol

Yes, Astrox 77 was the 1st launched in the series. There was a commercial. I remember clearly because my peers weren't keen on having to figure out which side to use on Duora 10 for forehand & backhand. Meaning they couldn't spin the racquet in their hands between points. So they all buy Astrox. 😏 Except me. Duora 10 was the 1st launched in the series. To my surprise, for doubles, the 7 is my favorite. I'm usually the strongest rear court player with the better defense skills.

NBG95 sounds like a good balance for what you wanted. However if you don't mind thinner strings potentially breaking, you could try BG-80, 66 Ultimax, Aerobite or even Aerobite Boost? 25 lbs mains and 27 lbs crosses should be a decent tension. Hi CK Yew, greetings from Penang, Malaysia. Recently, i have experienced using both different colors of Yonex Astrox 77 ( Shine red & yellow) and i have noticed the yellow Astrox 77 head tend to be heavier than the shine red version. Let me know your comment on this. TQ

Heyyyyy 😊😊 are you sure both rackets were the same spec? Sometimes even if they’re gripped differently, they might feel slightly different too 😬😬

Sry for the late post but iv been eyeing on the astrox 100zz(blue version) for quite some time now and I'm coming from the astrox 77, duora 10 and arcsaber 11. I was wondering if it would be a good upgrade from those rackets since I play a mix of both doubles and singles. Also, is there any difference between the red version of it? Because it does have a slightly higher price compared to the original blue one. And I'm also slightly sceptical because it was released quite a while back and there are newer rackets such as the 88d pro. And there might be a new 'pro' version coming out. What do u think🤔? Apologies for the many questions:)

The blue and red 100ZZ are the same, just different paintjobs. The 100ZZ will be head heaviest compared to the 77, Duora and Arc 11, but pretty fast.

Excellent review CK, I have the AX77 and the 100ZZ both in the 4U and I agree with all your review comments with the exception that the AX77 feels more head heavy than the 100ZZ which feels more like an even balanced racket to me. Great review nonetheless, keep up the good work.

@@CKYew If you read some of the threads on Badminton Central, it's not an uncommon opinion. There seems to be quite a mixture of review comments out there with some saying the 100ZZ is head heavy and others that it feels more like an even balance racket. At the end of the day, whether it's head heavy or even balanced can be determined through a scientific measurement of its balance point which I have not done but it definitely feels less head heavy than the AX77 to me.
@CKYew3 жыл бұрын
@@dbquek Haha the 100ZZ is certainly very quick but not an even balanced racket. I've just done a quick balance point check on them and the 100ZZ is significantly higher compared to the 77.
@dbquek3 жыл бұрын
@@CKYew It's interesting, Badminton Guide (another youtube channel) did some measurements and they came up with different balance points for the two AX77 rackets that they measured (one yellow and one blue) and they also measured the 100ZZ with the 100ZZ measuring between the two AX77s (100ZZ 302 vs AX77 Blue 298 and AX77 Yellow 304). Coincidentally, my AX77 happens to be a yellow one. I guess there will be some variations as the manufacturing process isn't so exact that they can churn out rackets to the same exact specifications. The third video link below is from a store in Seattle, North West Badminton where they have been measuring the same spec rackets and coming up with slightly different readings, which seems to support this. @@dbquek love the amount of details there. However to be honest, I don’t pay too much attention to BP’s as no one is consistent in measuring them. The difference of BP from bare wood to gripped, to PU grip, to graps to towel grips differ by so much for the same individual racket. And how much grip is on the racket too as well. So who knows how everyone measures and reports them 😬

I'm actually deciding between the 88D pro or the 100ZZ. Which would you say is the more all rounder racket for a rear court mixed doubles player? Playstyle would be aggressive and with emphasis on placement. Do you think the 3U would be far too heavy for doubles? For perspective, used the 99 and felt it was too sluggish, then the 88s which felt too weak in power and too fast for my taste.

@@CKYew I did, though to be honest, I actually don't like the colors of the 88D pro...but that's just me. That's why I'm thinking about a 3U 100ZZ instead compared to a 4U 88D pro as the additional weight may put it's power and air speed close to the 88.
