Claas Lexion vs John Deere X9 | A little Farm banter never hurt anyone!

When I grew up, the Lavoie & Fils farm had a mix of yellow New Holland combines and green John Deere combines. It was continual banter on the CB radio on which ones were better. So....to rekindle some of that "love", what better way than to visit the Entreprise Lavoie farm who have yellow Claas Lexion combines and ask them how they compare to their neighbours and cousins at Lavoie Ventures that have John Deere X9's.
I do push a little on the brotherly banter as well as there was between my uncles when I was younger. Thanks to Justin and Paul (both son's of my cousin Alain) to oblige on my question. Also special thanks to uncle Denis for his cameo near the end of the video.

How do you compare Lexion 670 with X9 1000 ? IF he had Lexion 8900,this would be reasonable benchmark comparison.

X9 1000 is comparable to a Claas 8700-8800. The 8900 ist comparable to the X9 1100

​@ILucaII you are correct that the Lexion 8900 and the JD X9 1100 would be comparable to each other, but the Lexion 8900 has 790 horsepower to the X9 1100 only has 603 horsepower. As far as I know the 8900 and the fendt 10t are the only two combines that has 790 horsepower.

It takes all of 5 minutes to put them into transport and hooked up with one person an extra 10 feet is well worth it

Claas, Deere X9 and Fendt Ideal all stool the combine concept from the Versatile 2000 from The mid 80’s.

Usually a bent feeder bar. The new 8000 series belt feeders are dead quiet.

I'm not sure why you would compare a Class to a John Deere, when they're both a copy of the King. New Holland

Funny you say that, my dad was one of the New Holland proponents when i grew up and mention at the beginning of the video. For that reason, I always sided with the New Holland.

@@Northernupshots originally I had Gleaner,but then Deutz ruined them, and I switched to John Deere, had 4 of them, which were very costly to keep maintained in comparison to a Gleaner, so I traded for a New Holland TR86, after 1 year of ownership, I knew I had made a huge mistake not buying a twin rotor when we switched from Gleaners. The New Holland are the undisputed king of combines

I believe the first guy is full of .… himself. The Claas combines are so unreliable and break down constantly. They won’t admit it, however, the know it.

Well, don’t know what to say…I know these guys keep care of their equipment and maintain them very well…like everything else - if you take care of something, it performs better.

Same problem they have with the ideal combines nice combine but have huge problems and are constantly down for maintenance! Hell just look at Mike Mitchell's videos.

😂 unreliable says who? We've never had one leave us stranded during harvest, obvious repairs during the winter but that's literally every machine ever made
