How do you been on this train quite a few times it's a nice ride every time if you ever want to do a video on the Trinity railway Express anyone to know the history of the railways themselves and the equipment and everything else please let me know I would be more than happy to help you

It's strange how the layout of the DFW terminal doesn't allow for both DART and TexRail to share trackage for cross-platform transfer--the Grapevine vintage train will give you an excuse to one day come back and sample the route--would like to know the heritage of the coaches and both E-9's--noticing the annoucement of the doors closing is said with a British accent! Just wish Houston would get their act together to provide for light rail to IAH--I believe Metro does have a plan to serve HOU as an extension of a route

The well-funded taxi lobby killed any attempt at IAH. Even Metro's direct IAH bus downtown died and they are left with the 102 only. Hobby is more likely to happy per Metro's plans.

In my opinion, a commuter rail line would be best in connecting Downtown Houston to IAH. Red Line would take almost 2 hours to travel between those two destinations…the travel time between Hobby and Downtown would take approximately 1 hour. Houston needs heavy and rapid rail lines. Also, not just connecting Downtown Houston, but also connect TMC, Greenway, Uptown, and Memorial City area.

Also, I’ve rode the IAH Airport Direct Bus when it was in service. The route was great but METRO did a poor job in advertising/promoting their direct airport route. Not many people knew about that service.

@@HOUExplorer It was not great advertising, but I rode it several times and it was 75-80% full both times, often with int'l travellers.

It's great to have an alternative to driving but why is the train so slow? 53 minutes to go 27 miles. Maybe I'm spoiled watching high speed train videos of other countries. Thanks for posting this. It's a move in the right direction for public transportation in Texas.

Maybe stopping at all the stations along the way is part of it? Or because it doesn't go directly to DFW airport and goes though all those other towns? I don't know. But I do know the train travels at speeds from 55mph to around 70mph in certain areas. But, for here in Texas or the U.S. or whatever, it's pretty good. It's a really great alternative to driving in the traffic.

I would take this to the airport instead of driving, save so much money on airport parking fees. I would love to see this line become electrified for faster service like they are doing for CalTrain , again, thank you for the great video. We could use something like this to the airport in Austin....even Houston and San Antonio. @@trevorjameson3213

People take trains in Texas because they don't have cars or can't drive. The only part of the US where car owners might take buses or trains is in the Northeast.

As a visitor soon to visit Fort Worth, I will have a large wheeled case with me, how do I store it? There is no large luggage racks and my suitcase looks to big to fit into the rack above the seating. I looked on TexRail and nothing for advice, except keep luggage with you at all times and don't block seats for other passengers. I understand it is a commuter train, but it serves the airport, so one would expect a suitcase storage area.

@@HOUExplorer Last year I was on Amtrak going through Fort Worth, and near the station there were two old-fashioned coaches on the rails. One looks like a parlor car, and the other has one of those big glass domes on the top. I don't know the their story.

What is your opinion on cities like Atlanta switching from heavy rail to these Stadler trains? Call me old fashioned but I am sad to see the traditional heavy rail cars start to be phased out! Anyways keep up the great reports! I always enjoy your content!
@HOUExplorer
@HOUExplorer Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm old fashion as well. The current MARTA fleet is iconic. Sadly, those iconic train will retire. I really like the Stadler trains (MARTA could use some modernization) but I'm not a big fan of a long single rail car due to security concerns. On the current rail cars, you can switch cars if there is a disturbance (loud music/talking, bad odor or smoking). On the new Stadler rail car, there is no escape on those disturbance.
@OliversElevators
@OliversElevators Жыл бұрын
@@HOUExplorerthis is partially true. The new Atlanta cars will have open gangways, but will come in four-car sets with trains comprised of 2 four-car sets coupled together. So if there’s a disturbance in one car, you can still get out and transfer to the other set of cars.
