Riding TEXRail, Downtown Fort Worth T&P Station to DFW Airport Terminal B Station

Riding Trinity METRO TEXRail Commuter Rail (train model: Stadler FLIRT) from Downtown Forth Worth T&P (Texas & Pacific) Station to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Airport Terminal B. The 27 miles (43 km) commuter rail from Downtown Fort Worth to DFW Airport is about 45 minutes ride. The full fare for that ride is $2.50. However, there is a Regional Day Pass gives you the option to ride DART, TRE, DCTA (including A-Train), and Trinity METRO (including TEXRail) for the whole day. The Regional Day Pass can be purchased (for $12.00) at any rail station platform in the DFW area.
I’ve enjoyed the ride! It was quiet, clean, fast, and the enjoyed the view of Fort Worth surrounding towns.

This video should make Houston mad. DFW public transportation options are awesome and it only gonna continue to get better. Two rail lines to both Airports. Houston none. Houston is my home and im so glad I'm not living there anymore. Traffic suck. I took the FlexBus from Dallas to Houston a couple of weeks ago and once we got into Montgomery County on I45 traffic was stop and go all the way to downtown Houston and this was on a Saturday. Well dayum.

Sadly, but I’m glad that DFW area is preparing for the future and the metroplex is growing fast. Also, having trains to the airport will help visitors to travel around DFW. Almost all major European/Asian cities have commuter rails or Metro subways connected to their airports.

I was lucky enough to ride this train recently from Grapevine to the stockyards. It was such a great experience. The ride was smooth and it was so nice not to have to take my car all the way there and back. I would so wish Houston had something like this!

No problem and you're welcome. For me, riding the TEXRail was a smooth experience and the fare is cheap (I believe it is $2.50 one way to the airport). Plus, the train is clean, quiet and spacious. FW is lucky to have a nice rail line.

@@DS-tw9ls Yes! I super recommend it! Clean train, few people and on time. I HAD to get it because it was right after the snowfall in February, so there was no way to Uber to the airport. Even though it was caos after the snow, the train was on time and we had no issues. My wife even took it by herself a couple months ago just because she didn't feel like driving to the airport.

I'm born & raised in Ft Worth but have not lived there for 20 yrs ...I miss it terribly...in West Texas....we would always run downtown fr Camp Bowie & Helen .I grew up there in Arlington Heights ).. ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE INSIDE VINTAGE BUILDING OLE T& P TRAIN STATION......I THINK MY Precious Grandfather who I never met but knew because I grew up in His house ..!! ..I think He worked out of the building in the 50's !! Yes, you can get off at any TEXRail station. Soon, I will tour around the T & P Station and then travel to Fort Worth Stockyards.

I'm thinking about taking Amtrak from OKC down to Fort Worth. I wasn't sure what to do with the 4 hours until my return train ride to OKC, but now I think I know. Looks like a 45 minute ride out to DFW and back will be a great way to fill the time. Can you buy tickets at the station using credit cards, or is this cash only? Is this a single class of service? Any food options on board? Not sure if the rides are long enough to justify it. Just trying to get an idea ahead of time what some of the options are.

The ticket vending machine accepts credit card and cash. But to save time, I recommend download the GoPass app (gopass.org). This app will allow you purchase train tickets around the DFW area. All trains are single class service.

Fortworth Trains are incredible Wow. This beats DART, CapMetro, Houston Metro, DCTA and even Miami and ATL possibly. DART defenitly should adopt the Flirt for a majority of its Lines.

How do you get to Terminal D if you do this to DFW. I usually arrive/depart from spirit Airlines. I want to try this out instead of bothering my family to drive to DFW.

The train stops at the ground level of the terminal. There is a small shuttle bus (called Terminal Link) that stops to a certain terminal that is located above ground (shuttle operates between 5am - 12am).
