Midoriya having to do the Sports Festival with no powers meant he basically won in the race and almost cornered Todoroki as a regular guy. It's crazy how much more threatening he became like 3 months later just adding in 20% AFO and a couple of moves. Deku if given a power actually of his own would have ran the world by his adulthood I guarantee it.

It's still stupidly impressive once you realise that springboard moment in the race was all done so fucking fast that not only did they both not notice him even being there, but PHYSICS itself stopped applying in that slow-mo shot we got with him having an internal monologue at real speed. You can see Bakugo's explosion in that scene was frozen and solid. All while this mf wasn't even using OFA

It’s hella impressive Midoriya won the sports fest race without using his quirk. Imagine being born with a quirk Deku would’ve mastered that shit before ever touching the UA grounds.

It doesn't exactly inspire confidence, though. All might will smile even when he doesn't feel like smiling because as a hero, there will always be people watching and its not just the villains. Its not like he was saying it to be mean smh

It means Deku is unsure of himself only outside of fights exclusively, he’s a train wreck of emotions who cannot lock in until he does specifically hero work. Crying in unnecessary moments is a large weakness for men, understanding when to feel a certain way is a big deal. His emotions are inappropriately displayed in some cases and I can’t in good conscience say it’s strong to cry
